We don’t know the trim levels yet, but we believe the base price for such a vehicle will be around $45,000. We’ll update this section as more information becomes available.

Interior, comfort and cargo

A look inside the Afeela EV sedan reveals, among several futuristic elements, a U-shaped yoke-style steering wheel that appears to be borrowed from the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The cabin lights up with ambient lighting and we can see a rotary controller in front of the center armrest to access the car’s fully digital dashboard. The overall layout is simple and clean, and the cabin seems spacious for a sedan, but we won’t know more until closer to the car’s on-sale date.

specification

In terms of specs, we haven’t heard much new this year. Presumably it will have the same or similar specs as originally announced – 400 kW (536 hp) dual-motor all-wheel drive, 0-62 mph (0-62 mph) in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h (149 km/h). We don’t have any information on price or battery size yet.

Sony highlighted its electronics expertise by focusing on the car’s sensor and infotainment capabilities. The vehicle will feature 45 sensors for autonomous driving (up from 40 at last year’s presentation) and include expanded in-car entertainment options.

Sony believes its entertainment and software expertise will enable it to offer a better connected in-car experience than traditional automakers. It plans to have constantly updated software in the AFEELA, something many automakers have promised but have been slow to deliver.
