Aston Martin DBX 707 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Don’t let its SUV bodywork fool you, the new Aston Martin DBX is infused with the British brand’s racy DNA. It’s bulkier than a DB11 and not as nimble as a Vantage , but unlike its low-slung siblings, this high-riding ute has a usable back seat, offers much more cargo space, and can be towed and driven off-road. The regular DBX has a sweet-sounding twin-turbo V-8, but it’s not as quick as some less expensive rivals.

The new 697bhp DBX 707 comes to the rescue, with a hotter engine and other performance upgrades. Each example also comes with a rich-looking interior that can be extensively customised, although we wish it had a firmer brake pedal and a full range of active safety features. Still, the DBX is just as elegant and fun to drive as Aston’s grand touring car, it’s just dressed up in an SUV shell.

What’s new ?

For , Aston is finally adding a faster, more powerful model with the introduction of the DBX 707. It features a revised version of the otherwise standard twin-turbo V-8 that makes 697 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. The standard nine-speed automatic with conventional torque converter is also swapped for a nine-speed unit with a wet clutch pack. Those power numbers represent increases of 155 and 147, respectively, over the standard engine.

The DBX 707 is said to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and from zero to 100 mph in 7.4 seconds. Helping to stop this fast SUV is a set of standard carbon-ceramic brakes. In addition to unique exterior elements, the DBX 707’s interior includes an updated center console with a rotating gear selector. Shortcut buttons have also been added to the center console, making it easier to adjust drive mode settings.

Aston Martin offers an impressive number of personalisation options for the DBX, particularly through its Q customisation service. The company’s online configurator shows several different appearance packages, and we’re keen on the Accelerate interior theme, with its mix of leather and faux suede and Sports Plus seats. On the outside, we’d go for the handsome Minotaur Green paint job, as well as the 22-inch black and bronze rims. We’d also opt for the tow package, the electric tailgate and the sports exhaust system, which lets us better enjoy the engine’s music.

Engine, transmission and performance

The regular DBX is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG. The engine produces 542 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, also supplied by Mercedes. The DBX 707 features a revised version of the AMG powertrain that produces 697 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. Its nine-speed automatic uses a wet clutch pack instead of the torque converter used by the standard transmission.

While the DBX is fundamentally rear-wheel drive, a central transfer case sends torque to the front axle when slippage is detected at the rear wheel. It also has a limited-slip rear differential and can tow up to 5940 pounds. Adaptive dampers and height-adjustable air springs are standard on the Aston – a boon for off-road adventures. The DBX we tested sprinted to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, which is respectable for a hot SUV, but the Lamborghini Urus and other rivals are noticeably quicker.

The version we drove on England’s best roads showcased the engine’s powerful soundtrack and the gearbox’s unobtrusive operation. Thanks to a variety of drive modes, its chassis exhibited a wide range of behaviors, from refined and relaxed to responsive and playful. Despite its short 157-foot stop from 70 mph, the ute suffered from an unresponsive brake pedal.

Real world fuel economy and MPG

According to EPA methodology, the regular DBX will earn 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. The DBX 707’s city and highway estimates have not yet been announced. We also have not had the opportunity to evaluate the standard model’s real-world fuel economy on our 75-mph highway route, which is part of our extensive testing program. Interior, comfort and cargo

The DBX shares much of its switchgear with the rest of the Aston Martin family. The cabin is trimmed in attractively stitched leather, soft-touch surfaces and a microsuede headliner. The ute comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, customisable ambient lighting,

tri-zone climate control and heated front and rear seats. Desirable options include ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a variety of even fancier cabin materials. Rear seat space is generous, with plenty of knee and headroom for adults. There’s also a good amount of cargo volume, with 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat and 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

Infotainment and connectivity

The large 10.2-inch infotainment screen – based on an aging Mercedes interface – does not respond to touch inputs. Instead, you control the device using the steering wheel buttons and a rotary knob on the center console; an integrated touchpad is optional. The system includes popular features such as Apple CarPlay integration, integrated navigation, a 14-speaker stereo, and multiple USB and 12-volt charging sockets.
