Aston Martin Rapide E 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Aston Martin’s first electric car has been a long time coming. We first learned about the Rapide E – then called RapidE – in 2015 with the unveiling of a concept developed jointly with Williams.

While Toyota and Nissan have provided us with affordable plug-in hybrids and all-electric options, with luxury and sports car makers aiming to outdo the rest, Aston Martin is of course in the game. The Aston Martin Rapide E will be the manufacturer’s first all-electric vehicle and a real contender in the electric vehicle market.

What makes the Rapide E even better is the driving experience it offers. We no longer have to suffer in slow and boring cars just to have this all-electric experience. Aston Martin claims the Rapide E will be a direct competitor to already popular electric cars like the new Porsche Taycan . But does it have the power to keep up?
It has a slightly disappointing top speed of 155 mph, but the average Rapide E driver would have very little opportunity to go even that fast, if at all. Aston Martin also claims their new electric powertrain will do 0-62 mph in under 4 seconds, but more testing is needed before we get solid numbers. The Taycan rival wasn’t the only target, as Aston Martin also claims the Rapide E will surpass Tesla’s performance for its more popular models.
There are some major drawbacks to the Rapide E, one of which is that the car will be produced in relatively small numbers. Some reports have indicated that fewer than a thousand models will be produced, but only time and demand will tell how many Aston Martin will end up producing.
Same exterior design, only better
At first glance, the Rapide E looks basically the same as the combustion model, but don’t be fooled: it’s received a pretty extensive styling refresh that gives it an 8 percent improvement in aerodynamics and therefore a longer range. It still has a massive grille (here with honeycomb mesh instead of chrome slats) despite the lower cooling needs for an EV, and the new front bumper has large air intakes; the electric powertrain allowed designers a little more freedom with the car’s appearance. The car’s flat underbody channels air from the front splitter to the larger rear diffuser, which no longer has to contain a pesky exhaust system. Aston says the fantastic-looking aluminum wheels have an aerodynamic design that improves efficiency without compromising brake cooling, and the wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
The interior gets a new 10-inch digital display that shows graphs for charge level, energy consumption and energy recovery, alongside information such as speed and power level. Aston has developed a smartphone app that connects to the car to remotely monitor battery status and charging; it also saves parking and provides directions. The dashboard is trimmed in black leather and carbon fiber, and bright blue accents are used throughout, matching the same color used on some exterior components.
Production of the Rapide E will be limited, with only 155 being built. The car will be produced as Aston Martin’s Saint Athan plant, which is described as the home of the brand’s electrification. Aston CEO Andy Palmer said the Rapide E shows the brand is actively preparing for an electrified future, adding that Aston intends to embrace EV technology while retaining the “unique qualities that make an Aston Martin”.
The order books are now open but no price has been announced. However, we do know one of the people who will receive a Rapide E: in his final outing as James Bond, Daniel Craig will reportedly drive a Rapide E in the 25th Bond film.

The new Rapide E will be the first fully electric Aston Martin to be built at the company’s new factory in St Athan, Wales, where it will be produced alongside the traditionally powered DBX SUV.
