Audi A4 e-tron EV 2025: Price, design, specifications, picture.
Audi expects electric vehicles to account for half of global premium car sales by 2030. The first step is to create higher segments where adoption is faster with electric vehicles such as the e-tron and e-tron GT.

However, it should consider converting compact and mid-size vehicles that recycle large amounts into electric vehicles or introducing bespoke electric vehicles in lower segments to prepare for a highly electric future. In the case of the A4, the company will reportedly take the second route of producing a dedicated electric vehicle.
The new Audi A4 e-tron EV range will be more comprehensive and diverse than ever. First, the current MLB platform will be modified for both electric, gasoline and hybrid variants.
PSA platform
Audi insiders in Ingolstadt said based on Audi that the next generation of the A4 will include a purely electric variant developed on a different platform. Audi will retain MLB for mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants and use the PPE platform for the A4 EV. Together with Porsche, the company is developing an electric vehicle platform that will be used by both brands.
The Audi A6 e-tron concept car debuted in April using the PPE platform. According to the British edition, the Audi A4 e-tron’s PPE platform will basically use the same design as the A6 e-tron, but with a shorter wheelbase and narrower tracks. Officially, the PPE platform can deliver vehicles with a range of up to 700 km WLTP and up to 270 kW thanks to a standard 800 V system voltage. The first two cars on the PPE platform are the Audi Q6 e-tron and the Porsche Macan EV , which are scheduled to launch in .
More aerodynamic design
The Audi A4 e-tron will likely have a five-door layout with a hatchback-like rear. Key features of the Audi A4 electric may also include adaptive air suspension, Level 2 autonomous driving, and contactless in-car payments for charging, parking, drive-thru food orders, and tolls.
Specifications
Like most luxury electric vehicles for sale, the Audi A4 e-tron will be available in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive (Quattro) versions. An Audi RS 4 e-tron with up to 496 hp and 590 lb.-ft. will top the range. There’s no word on battery options or range. However, Audi is targeting a range of around 700 km (WLTP) for the A6 e-tron, and expect a maximum range of 550-1000 km (WLTP) for the A6 e-tron.
By 2030, the Volkswagen Group plans to produce up to around seven million vehicles on the PPE platform. Core models such as the Audi A4 e-tron and the Model S competitor Audi A6 e-tron must make a significant contribution to this. The A6 e-tron will debut in , with the A4 e-tron to follow in .
