Audi A7 2025: Minor Changes, New Colors and Interior Improvements.
The newly announced Audi A7 will not change much compared to the current model. This car has received three design changes in the last six years, so it’s hard to imagine a complete overhaul currently underway. Based on the images we’ve seen and the spy photos released, the car will be a bit sharper for the upcoming season, but not much is expected.
AudiA7
Changes confirmed for now include new exterior paint colors, a new set of wheels and some additional features for the interior of the Audi A7. The style will be the same and this is certainly not a problem with this car as it has been like this since 2014 and still manages to hold up.
The new Audi A7 still competes in the same luxury segment, but since the model already looks good with the given updates and already offers so many praises, we can only say that it is good that they have not changed much in the model.
The original Audi A7 model was actually introduced as a competitor to the Mercedes Benz CLS class and was Audi’s unique answer to it. It was actually molded onto their A6 model and looks more like an A6 with a fastback-like roof and a hatchback tailgate. This model was first shown in 2010 and was the first Audi liftback model after a long time. The last model was launched in 1970. The A7 has grown in popularity purely due to its design and the suitable engine range that comes with it.
Since its launch, the car has had two refreshes along with the 2020 versions and is preparing for another and the release in . This is the only model from Audi that has had so many refreshes. We see this model as the last one before the debut of the next-generation model. Interestingly, the current styling still makes the car fresh and looks good, so we may have to wait a little longer to get the next-generation car. We are eagerly awaiting the release date and believe that the Audi A7 will be a very popular car.
When is the release date of the Audi A7?
The car will actually be launched ahead of schedule and the Audi A7 is expected to make its debut in late 2017. The car looks pretty good and all the production requirements are almost done. We are just waiting for some final testing to be completed and the model to be released. This is good news for people who can’t wait any longer for the latest version of the A7. The car is expected to be launched later this year. The exact release date is expected to be in the third quarter of 2017. A released video has also been released to prepare us for the upcoming Audi A7.
How much does the Audi A7 cost?
Price ratings have already been released for the Audi A7, but only in Germany. This means we don’t have firm prices for the US market yet, but based on the European specifications, we can convert the price into a base MSRP of $68,800 for the Premium Plus version. The Prestige will cost €71,350. Rival cars are valued at €76,550, and the Premium Plus versions with a larger engine can cost up to €79,900 or €82,900 (compare them with the prices of the new Audi A7). Compared to the last model, the price does increase, but it’s not an insane amount. However, if you want to get your hands on the updated version of the Audi A7, you’ll have to be prepared to pay a little more.
Exterior design and styling
The exterior of the Audi A7 will mainly be a carryover of the previous styling. You don’t have to expect any extravagant changes, but the car will include some additions that will be innovations for the car. These include the new alloy wheels that are now used, as well as three new exterior colors
The added colors include Matador Red, Gotland Green and Java Brown, the last one being offered for the first time on other Audi models except the A6 Allroad version. Despite the lack of changes, we can safely say that Audi’s A7 and A7 Sportback versions are the best looking and most attractive models in the range and will remain so for the time being.
The result of updating and adding all the angular elements to the Audi A7 is a much sportier stance for the car. The vehicle will look meaner and it’s actually more than we were hoping for with this car. Sometimes Audi can be stingy with their updates but this is one for the books and perhaps an exception to the rule they decided to go by.
Interior changes
There are more updates inside the Audi A7 than inside. Unfortunately, the update this time will not include new leather upholstery and additional colors, but we do get new inlays in Aluminum Ellipse Silver and Fine-Grain Birch Natural Agate Gray. The technological part is updated with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and you also get inductive charging for your phone this time. The people in the back can have fun with a pair of removable tablets. Finally, there are some comfort features in terms of LED interior lighting and also heated seats with electric lumbar adjustment.
Everything else is more or less the same. This doesn’t make the Audi A7 a bad model, but we’re talking about a redesign. The technology has improved and there are some wonderful new additions that keep the car up to date and offer great new options for the car. Therefore, updating is very appropriate for a facelifted version of an Audi.
Which engine is used?
The engine choices for the Audi A7 will also carry over for the model year. The car will use a 3.0-liter V6 engine for its US versions that will produce 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The European version of the car will use 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel in three options, but this version of the engine is not available for the North American audience. Entry-level engines produce 218 horsepower, the mid-range is 271 horsepower, and the top-of-the-line is 320 horsepower.
The European market Audi A7 will also add a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 252 horsepower, offering the best fuel economy figures of all.
As for the transmission options, there will be no major changes there either. The model will continue to be mated to a seven-speed S Tronic or use an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox, and this is all based on the model type we have. Also, the Quattro all-wheel drive system will continue to be offered with this model, but it will depend on the trim level and also the engine variant whether it will become an optional or standard version for the car. It seems very appropriate to keep things as they are now, but a more powerful version and a larger engine could come into force next time around. This will most likely depend on when and how Audi decides to update the future engines.
0-62 mph per hour capability and top speed
With its base version of the engine, the Audi A7 will hit the 0-62 mph mark in just 5.2 seconds, matching the specs from last year. The top speed is limited to 130 mph. Since this is a carryover, it’s perfectly normal that the specs will carry over as well. Plus, the outgoing model already has some very decent rates and it helps a lot with the production of the car.
All in all, we probably won’t see any improvements in terms of power and performance until they introduce a new engine. This may happen with a next-generation car, but who knows. For now, we can only enjoy the new A7 model.
Fuel consumption specifications for the Audi A7
The vehicle will have the same fuel specifications and the Audi A7 will not change as the engine is the same. Thus, the EPA rating of 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway will be the same for US versions that will come out. So far, no improvements have been made in terms of fuel economy and the model will be the same for now. Despite this, the model is very competitive in this segment. It will maintain its popularity among other cars and maintain its position. Generally speaking, the competing cars do not perform that much better, so the Audi A7 still seems to be in a good position market-wise.
Dimensions
As for the dimensions of the Audi A7, they are also the same as the current ones. The car will have an overall length of 196.2 inches and a wheelbase of 114.7 inches. The width is 75.2 inches and the height is 55.9 inches. The passenger volume is quite large for the car and it remains at 94 cu ft and the cargo space is also quite amazing and one of the better ones in the segment, so it measures 25 cu ft. Finally, the curb weight is 4234 lb.
The new Audi A7 decides to keep things simple with a design as now the dimensions need to be expanded even further. The car may feel the same at first but it will help to have the new additions. The size doesn’t need to change though as that can only cause additional problems for the brand. Maybe they decide to keep the size the same with the next generation.
Safety specifications
The Audi A7 will be one of the safest cars in its segment. The safety specifications announced will surely make the car much better and will be informed about the already great offering of the vehicle. The equipment that will be used to increase the safety of the vehicle includes dual-stage driver and passenger airbags, front thorax side airbags, knee airbags and Sideguard head curtain airbags and passenger detection.
Standard safety features on the Audi A7 also include seat belt reminders, a power lock system with airbag safety release function, and lower anchors and tethers for children. Some driver assistance features include anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and electronic stability control with traction control.
Competing vehicles
Audi A7 was made for a purpose and the same purpose will continue until Audi A7 . The legacy of fighting against its biggest enemy and rival vehicle will still be there when the car is released and it will have to face the latest models of Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. However, recently another competitor has emerged, namely BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, which will also be looking for its piece of the pie.
Some people say that the changes for this car are not enough compared to the price we have to pay for it. It is still an expensive car, but we get far less than we would expect from this car.
But this refresh will keep the car fresh for at least another two years and means that the folks at Audi will be free to prepare the next-generation model at their own pace. We will see the said products and competing vehicle leadership turn the situation in their favor, but in our opinion things will remain as they are now.
