The Audi Activesphere EVs blur the lines between automotive segments, combining a sloping, car-like roofline with a distinctly SUV-like stance and ride height.

The fourth in Audi’s line of “Sphere” concepts – after the Skysphere roadster, Grandsphere sedan and Urbansphere minivan – the Activesphere envisions a sleekly designed crossover that supports an outdoor lifestyle and showcases new technologies that Audi plans to implement in the coming decades.
Exterior and interior design
The focus on off-road exploration resulted in a transparent interpretation of the “Singleframe” grille that has adorned Audi for the past two decades to help the driver better see obstacles ahead of the vehicle.
The lower parts of the doors are also made of glass. The 8.2-inch ride height can be raised 1.6 inches when leaving the tarmac, and Audi lists the approach angle as a decent 18.9 degrees, while the departure angle is more versatile at 28.1 degrees.
You can just make out the sleek headlights, similar to those on the Skysphere and Grandsphere concepts, and it appears to have a sporty roofline.
New Audi Activesphere batteries, motors and range
Audi hasn’t confirmed any specific details for the Activesphere yet, but it will likely use the same parts from the Grandsphere and Urbansphere concepts. Check out the Audi Grandsphere in the video below.
This means it will likely have two motors with all-wheel drive and could have up to 700 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The Activesphere is tuned for off-road capability, hence the fat tires. However, like the other Sphere concepts, it will also likely be fully self-driving.
No details have been announced about the battery either, but it could use the same 120 kWh unit from the Grandsphere and Urbansphere. That would mean a range of around 750 km.
New Audi Activesphere price and release date
The Audi Activesphere EVs will be officially unveiled in January , but Audi has no plans to put them into production yet. The European market launch is planned and the estimated price is expected to be at least 100,000,000 euros.
