Audi e-tron GT 2025: Electric power and high technology in a graceful body
The Audi e-tron GT is a bold-looking electric car with deep engineering ties to the Porsche Taycan . In fact, the two sleek four-door Gran Turismos were developed alongside each other and share a cutting-edge 800-volt drive architecture that allows for faster charging and helps keep power consistent. The e-tron GT’s two electric motors, which produce between 522 and 637 horsepower depending on the model, are supported by an innovative two-speed transmission that enables breathtaking launches.
Sedan Audi e-tron GT
The Audi stands out from the Porsche with its more chiseled bodywork and busier front end. Inside, the e-tron is as elegant as it is technically advanced, with a selection of beautiful materials and high-tech features. While the Audi e-tron GT is arguably just a rebadged Taycan , it’s another desirable alternative to the popular Tesla Model S.
Engine, transmission and performance
With two electric motors forming an electrified version of Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the regular e-tron GT generates up to 522 horsepower, while the RS version tops out at 637 ponies. That power is translated into exhilarating acceleration with the help of its innovative two-speed transmission, with a first gear for pulling away and a second top gear for optimal efficiency.
A complex cooling system means the battery can handle repeated runs without the typical signs of heat-related degradation. Audi has instead ditched traditional one-pedal driving for its sporty electric vehicle, too, for a more natural driving experience. The e-tron GT is available with all-wheel steering, adjustable air suspension, and wheel sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches. We drove the RS version and appreciated its smooth ride, stable handling, and selectable regenerative braking settings, which can be adjusted via the paddles on the steering wheel.
Range, charging and battery life
Each e-tron GT features an 85.0-kWh lithium-ion battery and should offer up to 238 miles of range, according to Audi. Since the e-tron’s battery has a bit more usable capacity than the 83.7-kWh pack that powers the Taycan 4S, which has an EPA-rated range of 227 miles, we’d bet the non-RS variant will have a similar figure. Plus, with the standard 270-kW DC fast charger, the e-tron GT can be charged from 5 to 80 percent of its battery capacity in 23 minutes.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Audi has not yet announced how efficient the e-tron GT will be. Once that information is released and we have a chance to test one on our 75-mile highway route, which is part of our extensive testing program, we will be able to evaluate how efficient the electrified sedan is in the real world. For more information on the e-tron GT’s efficiency ratings, visit the EPA’s website.
Interior, comfort and cargo
Inside, the e-tron GT mixes imaginative and functional elements. The cabin features multiple digital displays on its angular dashboard as well as upscale trim. Audi offers leather upholstery with various color options as well as a leather-free package using recycled materials. There is, of course, no shortage of available luxury features. Top options include ambient interior lighting, a head-up display, heated and cooled front seats with massage functions, and more.
The front passengers sit low to the floor, promoting a sporty driving position. The rear outboard seats offer ample legroom, but headroom is less generous, and the middle seat is more polite than comfortable. There is space for luggage behind the rear seats and under the hood in the front trunk (boot).
Infotainment and connectivity
While not as touchscreen-heavy as other Audi models such as the A7 sedan and e-tron SUV, the e-tron GT’s infotainment system is still visually exciting and filled with popular content. The central touchscreen measures 10.1 inches and works with steering wheel controls and voice recognition software. In addition to a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, the e-tron GT is available with wireless charging and a powerful 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Safety and driver assistance functions
For more information on the e-tron GT’s crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. The all-electric sedan features a myriad of driver-assist technologies, including adaptive cruise control as well as a remote self-parking assistant that allows the driver to park the car via a smartphone app. Key safety features include:
- Standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
- Available blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert
- Available lane departure warning and lane keeping assist
Warranty and maintenance coverage
Audi has a competitive limited warranty that’s in line with most luxury rivals. The company also covers the components of its electric vehicles for eight years or 100,000 miles. Although it offers some free maintenance, it’s one of the shortest periods on the market.
Price Audi e-tron GT
All-new , the e-tron GT is the latest all-electric model in Audi’s EV lineup. It joins the e-tron SUV and Sportback models; the next arrival will be the Q4 e-tron SUV. The e-tron GT goes on sale this summer.
With up to 637 horsepower and sportier intentions than the regular e-tron GT models, it’s hard not to find the RS variant the most desirable. Unfortunately, it costs €40,000 (Euros) more than the base Premium Plus model, so we recommend the mid-range e-tron GT Prestige, which offers the best mix of features and value.
