Audi e-tron S 2025: New features and improvements in the electric crossover
The Audi e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback are coming to dealerships in Europe with even more promises. While the e-tron SUV and e-tron Sportback have two electric motors as standard, the e-tron S has three: two at the rear and one at the front.

The three electric motors are matched in terms of power and torque, but the new e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback feature torque vectoring for a safer and sportier ride.

Let’s start with the juicy bits. The e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback are identical cars underneath, although the latter has a sleek, coupe-like roofline. Both are equipped with three electric motors totaling 429 hp and 596 lb-ft of torque. But when supercharged, the motors can produce 496 hp and 718 lb-ft of torque in short bursts, allowing you to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.
The electric motors draw power from a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery, enough to drive 208 miles (e-tron S) and 212 miles (e-tron S Sportback). Two charging ports come standard with a 9.6 kW AC Level 2 charger, but the e-tron S supports up to 150 kW DC fast charging to charge the batteries from five to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.
Electric Quattro AWD with torque vectoring system
The Audi e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback are equipped with a quattro AWD electric drive with torque vectoring at the front and rear. In everyday use, the e-tron S is rear-wheel drive and is powered by two electric motors. However, the two motors work independently of each other and can rev faster or slower depending on driving conditions. And in dynamic mode, the quattro electrics enable the driver to perform controlled drifts on a closed track.
But when the going gets tough, the single front electric motor comes to life, providing more propulsion and an innovative brake-based torque vectoring system. Audi says the system activates in milliseconds to provide more driving confidence in bad weather or rough terrain. That’s OK – that’s the standard adaptive air suspension, 20-inch wheels with all-season tires (larger and wider alloy wheels available), and six-piston front brake calipers with massive 15.7-inch brake discs.
Sporty style
Audi claims its latest e-tron S models are the first to have a wider body than standard non-S variants. It now has 0.9-inch wider front fenders and updated front and rear bumpers. Also available are the Audi Digital Matrix LED headlights with 1.3 million pixels for projecting five special animation welcome and exit effects.
Other functions such as traffic signs and low beam headlights are also possible, but only if strict and outdated US regulations allow these functions to be “unlocked”.
Security features
In terms of safety, the e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback have traffic sign recognition, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Curve Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Audi pre-sense front and Audi phonebox with signal amplifier.
Audi warranty and service
The Audi e-tron SUV comes with a five-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty and an eight-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty, though Audi has yet to announce whether the same warranties will apply to its latest e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback models. Depending on how much you drive, it may be worth investing in an additional warranty. This detailed guide sheds light on Audi’s extended warranty.
