The mid-size luxury pickup truck segment is reaching new heights. This segment is literally filled with luxury models on a global scale. One incoming model could cause chaos, and it is the upcoming Audi pickup truck .

Following Tesla’s plan to deliver an all-electric truck and the new GMC Canyon Denali , German automakers are upping the ante. BMW is also planning to launch a pickup truck, as is Audi. While it’s all still a concept, that model could arrive later next year.
Audi pickup truck will borrow many ideas from the existing Volkswagen Amarok. However, we expect leather interior with luxury amenities as standard. In addition, the Audi Q7 SUV will serve as inspiration for the incoming pickup. This includes an exterior design that looks very premium and, of course, the powertrain.
The Audi Pickup 2 will use some cues from the latest VW Amarok
The upcoming Audi pickup truck will be based on the latest VW Amarok . But this pickup will also take inspiration from the Audi Q7 SUV. With that in mind, expect an amazing exterior design, perhaps the most modern design in the history of the mid-size segment.
Audi’s first pickup truck features a taller grille and hood, as well as an amazing headlight approach angle. Lots of chrome trim is standard, the same goes for the bed and the step bumper. Speaking of standard equipment, the German automaker is sure to offer LED headlights and taillights.
Audi pickup gets the famous MMI infotainment system
The interior will be very similar to the interior of the Q7 model. With that in mind, the Audi pickup truck will offer leather seats, real wood materials and carbon fiber trim as standard. The latest Audi MMI infotainment system beats the competition with ease and Audi’s virtual cockpit could also pass through.
A range of interior combinations are endless for such a luxurious carmaker, so it is difficult to predict what will happen in the future. In addition, we all expect the premium design of the air vents, dashboard and center console layout. The price of this model is not cheap, but at least the interior will meet the expectations.
Truck engine
Currently, it is very unclear which powertrain will power the Audi pickup. On the one hand, Amarok uses a 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine that produces 221 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, Audi Q7 offers a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine that delivers 333 horses and 325 lb-ft of torque.
Both powertrains use an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and the optional all-wheel drive system. The Amarok engine also offers good downhill control and a limited-slip rear differential. Audi’s incoming pickup truck is sure to choose one of these two options, if not both.
4Motion System
Another interesting debate is what drive system Audi should supply to its latest pickup model. The Amarok offers a 4Motion system, which is very smooth and efficient. However, this system is more different from the rest of the competition. Unlike models like GMC Canyon, Amarok offers a full-time system with no low range. It would be natural to see Audi’s quattro AWD setup in Audi’s pickup, but that’s not so likely.
