Audi Q8 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Coupe crossovers have become very popular in recent years, and the company from Ingolstadt is also following this trend. Therefore, we recently saw an all-new model caller Q8. Based on the model name, you can easily assume that it is heavily based on the more famous Q7 , which has represented this company in the mid-size luxury crossover segment for years.
SUV Audi Q8
The Audi Q8 will mark the second year of production, so we wouldn’t normally expect any major changes. However, Audi is preparing for interesting novelties for next year. Considering that the current version has only one engine on offer, next year will bring us novelties under the hood. We are about to see a high-performance version of this crossover under the famous RS badge. Expect the version sometime in the second half of the year.
Redesign
In terms of basic design features, the Audi Q8 will definitely not feature any important change. It will represent the second year of production of the first generation. As mentioned, this model is heavily based on the more famous Q7. It rides on the same MLB platform and has almost the same mechanics. On the other hand, the overall shape is different. This model has a typical coupe-crossover layout, which is very popular these days. Therefore, you can count on a familiar front end, but also the rear end, which is equipped with a sloping roofline and a flap-like tailgate.
We expect a lot of changes in the new RS version. The test model has been spotted wearing a lot of camouflage. Typically for performance versions, it comes with a completely new body kit with more aggressive bumpers, side skirts and other parts. Of course, count on larger wheels and some more distinctive styling details. Of course, the Audi Q8 will also come with a number of mechanical improvements. In addition to a new engine, we also expect changes to the chassis, suspension, new brakes and similar things.
Interior
Inside, the Q8 is a big departure from the rest of the lineup. The dashboard design represents the company’s new approach, which will be used in other future models as well. The first thing you’ll notice is a new center stack, this time with two large touchscreens. Almost all the controls have been digitized and the entire dashboard requires a bit of a learning curve. However, once you get familiar with all the controls, things become quite easy and smooth. In addition to screens in the center stack, it also has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, better known as Audi Virtual Cockpit.
On the other hand, the overall quality is undeniable and we don’t expect any change for next year. The entire cabin is made of high-quality materials and there are too many competitors in the class that can match its luxury. When it comes to seating, this crossover has two comfortable rows. The front seats are massive and very supportive. Of course, there is plenty of legroom as well, although headroom in the rear seats is quite modest due to the body style.
These types of body styles aren’t all that practical, so don’t count on spectacular cargo volume. This model offers around 27 cubic feet behind the rear seats and nearly 60 cubic feet of total cargo space. This is more compared to its biggest rival, the BMW X6 .
Engines
The current models have only one engine on offer and it’s pretty unimpressive. It’s a familiar 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine that’s paired with a mild-hybrid system for a total output of around 335 horsepower. This power is enough for a comfortable ride. However, you can’t count on quick accelerations, which would be fine if this engine could deliver some decent mpg ratings. Unfortunately, a mild-hybrid setup doesn’t help either, so you can count on an unsatisfactory 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Most midsize crossovers offer better fuel economy.
Therefore, the company wants to improve things and offer an engine that will move this sporty-looking crossover much faster. The Audi Q8 will come with a familiar 4.0-liter V8 that will be tuned to produce 550 to 600 horsepower.
Release date and price
Considering the new performance version, the Audi Q8 could arrive a little earlier than usual. This would probably mean sometime in the third quarter of the year. The base price of €67,500 (Euro) will definitely not change too much, although we are still waiting to see how much the new RS version will cost.
