Audi RS5 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The upcoming version of Audi RS5 will receive a refresh, just like the previous A5 version. When a 2017 version of the A5 model was released and updated, it was time for the high-performance counterpart of the vehicle to do the same.
Audi RS5
So it was announced that the RS5 brand will also receive an upgrade and a release date about a year after the base model. The final product was finally unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and we can finally evaluate the new product.
What we noticed immediately about the Audi RS5 is that the model will receive all sorts of updates. Some of them will be like how the Audi A5 was redesigned, but many of them will focus on making the car more aggressive. The styling of the car is to make it more aggressive and make the car look mean on the streets.
But the update also affects the powertrain. In fact, it takes up a larger part of the changes made for the version of the Audi RS5. Compared to before, the car will add torque and keep the same power. You may see this as strange, but the results of the changes also imply that the car is faster, as it has a higher top speed and also accelerates better.
You can read how this is possible here, as there is more information about the latest Audi RS5 .
When is the release date of the Audi RS5?
After the Audi RS5 was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, it was announced that the vehicle will be launched in . We expect the car to launch sometime in the second or third quarter of the year as the release date is set for a summer release.
What is the price we can expect?
Unfortunately, the Audi RS5 will not be offered in America this time, and we are sad about that as this is potentially one of the better improvements Audi has made. The model costs €80,900 in Europe, which is roughly €87,405 (Euros).
Aggressive new exterior design
We have already said that the Audi RS5 will be very aggressive in terms of design. They have decided to specify in this update how fast the car can go, so this time it is not just about making the car faster but also making it look faster. The front end of the car takes the majority of the changes as it does a little work for the grille, making it smaller but wider and also changes the headlights by mainly improving their size. The corner vents have also been updated and the car features many different lines that change its styling and give it a very masculine tone.
The profile of the car has also undergone the same changes. The part that was a carryover from the last generation model is the lower body line that runs across the car, but this time it has been made noticeably sharper. The lower part of the body has also had some work done, adjusting the side skirts to be closer to the waist this time. The rear has been meticulously redesigned. The rear fascia looks very different and it also helps that the car received new slimmer taillights and rear deck that also instill aggressiveness. All in all, the car wears its heart on its sleeve and doesn’t try to fool anyone with the styling and what it can offer.
Inside redesign and touches
The interior of the Audi RS5 has been updated in a great way. If you know Audi, you know that they don’t go all-in when it comes to redesigning cars. This has only happened a few times and it seems that it is happening with the RS5 brand. We see better leather materials with carbon fiber everywhere. New technology has been added and also some parts have been perfectly stylized. The interior tone has a dark shade thanks to the mostly used black leather but is well balanced with the red stitching that contrasts the dark atmosphere a bit.
The dashboard and instrument cluster have undergone massive changes. Firstly, the instruments have been digitized and the latest version of Audi’s virtual cockpit has been added to prove better use of the controls. Add to that the updated infotainment controls such as MMI navigation with an MMI touch system as well as the Audi connect system which offers more connectivity compared to before. All this is topped off by a redesigned flat-bottomed wheel that features the same stitching and leather as the rest of the cabin and also comes with redesigned spokes.
Drivetrain and performance
When it comes to the engine, the Audi RS5 will implement the same formula as many modern cars. So that means no V-8 under the hood, but a smaller unit with larger turbos. The one that comes under the hood of the Audi RS5 is the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which offers the same power and performance as the previous engine, producing 450 horsepower. However, the changes come with the torque, as the model is upgraded to deliver 442 pounds of torque for the updated engine. When we say that this means an increase in torque of 124 pounds per foot compared to last time, it seems even more impressive.
0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed
Acceleration of the Audi RS5 will improve, but top speed will not reach the expected 200 mph mark. Instead, we get a standard top speed of 175 mph in some ways, but the time it takes to get there is significantly improved. Thanks to torque, lower weight, and a new type of engine, the RS5 will do 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than before.
Changes in fuel consumption
Currently, the fuel consumption statistics for the Audi RS5 are still unofficial, but it seems that they are getting better in this regard. It will mainly depend on the weight of the car, as the model has suffered a weight loss of about 132 pounds. This translates to a fuel consumption of 8.7 liters per 100 km, which corresponds to a combined rating of 27 mpg. However, the official statistics will be released a little later.
Dimensions and trunk size
The dimensions of the Audi RS5 have not been changed that much and seem to remain at the same level as the outgoing model. The length of the vehicle is measured at
185.9 inches while the wheelbase is 108.89 inches. The height is 53.54 inches while the width is 73.26 inches. As for the interior, the numbers are yet to be released and confirmed but we expect the same specifications as last time.
New technology for car safety
The Audi RS5 will also update the safety systems and will combine for a much greater effort when it comes to keeping passengers safe. Not everything has been released yet, but there are about 30 different features that will guarantee the driver is focused and aware of exactly what is happening on the road and in the car. Both passive and active features come into play in this redesign.
Who are the rivals?
While the Audi RS5 may have plenty of vehicles to compete against, the next few are actually surprising entries. The Lexus RC F and Cadillac ATS-V Coupe seem like unlikely models to compete with the car, but trust us on this one. These two models have all the makings of a fanbase of their own and topple the RS5’s sales. But we’ll see what happens when the car is out.
