Audi RS6 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

With an intimidating appearance and a raucous 591-horsepower engine, the Audi RS6 Avant is one hell of a station wagon. Not only can it launch from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds and reach speeds of up to 290 miles per hour, but it will also comfortably transport a quartet of passengers and all their gear. Audi justifies the six-figure price with a lavish interior and plenty of high-tech features.

Sedan Audi RS6

Similar to other expensive and powerful station wagons like the Mercedes-AMG E63 S and Porsche Panamera Turbo S Sport Turismo, the Audi RS6 Avant is incredibly fast and rewarding to drive. If you’re not committed to the long-roof lifestyle but want everything else the RS6 has to offer, you should check out the mechanically identical Audi RS7 hatchback.

What’s new ?

Audi has made only minor changes to the RS6 Avant . The interior has a new standard trim called Carbon Twill. An RS design package brings unique floor mats, black seat belts with colored edges and more finishes with racy microsuede. The Carbon and Black Optic packages get a set of black 22-inch wheels. Titanium wheels are also available. And buyers can upgrade the RS6 Avant’s chassis to include Dynamic Ride Control, which is designed to reduce body roll and improve handling.

This car only comes in one specification, but you can spec it with plenty of fancy options. If you don’t want a grey car , you’ll have to pay extra for paintwork. We’d have ours painted in the pretty Navarra Blue Metallic. We’d also choose the Black Optik package, which gives the estate an even more sinister look with black exterior parts and chic 22-inch wheels on summer performance tyres. Those who want their Avant to hit 300km/h will have to pay for carbon-ceramic brakes, but we’d spend that money on massage chairs up front and the Executive package (extended leather, heated rear seats, soft-closing doors and a head-up display). Of course, our estate needs the optional sports exhaust so we can revel in its stirring engine noises.

Engine, transmission and performance

Audi equips the RS6 Avant with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that produces 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The powerplant combines with a 48-volt hybrid system found in other Audi products like the A8 luxury sedan and Q8 crossover . The RS6 Avant feeds its standard Quattro all-wheel drive system through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The combination helped our 5031-pound test car accelerate to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 11.5 ticks at 120 mph. But those numbers don’t exactly capture the car’s glorious ability to raise our heart rates and tingle our eardrums with its breakneck acceleration and hard-hitting soundtrack. Riding on a set of 22-inch wheels with summer performance rubber and supported by a sport-tuned air suspension with adaptive dampers, our Tango Red RS6 Avant was able to deliver a relaxed or exuberant ride depending on the drive mode selected. The long-roof Audi also felt extremely agile thanks to all-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring rear differential. Ours stopped from 70 mph in a decent 160 feet using the standard brakes. A set of carbon-ceramic stoppers front and rear are available for a considerable sum, and the upgrade enables a higher top speed of 186 mph.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The RS6 Avant is expected to earn 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, which is on par with the E63 S and Panamera Turbo S Sport Turismo. Once we can drive the RS6 Avant on our 75-mile highway fuel economy route, part of our extensive testing program, we’ll be able to evaluate its real-world mpg. For more information on the RS6 Avant’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Interior, comfort and cargo

Inside, the RS6 Avant showcases sophisticated design and cutting-edge technology. The driver faces a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and the dashboard features two large touchscreens between the front passengers. The rest of the cabin is trimmed in leather and accented with racy materials. The RS6 Avant comes with a number of upscale standard features, including heated and ventilated front seats, four-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charging. Buyers can order a head-up display, massaging front seats, richer leather and heated rear seats for more money. The wagon also has 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. A power liftgate is standard; a motion-activated one is optional.

Infotainment and connectivity

A 10.1-inch touchscreen controls the infotainment system. It supports standard features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, built-in navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Below the upper display is an 8.6-inch touchscreen that contains settings for climate control as well as other vehicle functions. Although both screens have large icons that are easy to see and use, they can be distracting to the driver, especially the lower one. We miss the old scroll knob that used to accompany Audi’s infotainment systems.

Safety and driver assistance functions

The Audi wagon offers some standard driver assistance technologies with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. For more information on the RS6 Avant’s crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:

  • Standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
  • Available night vision with large animal and pedestrian detection
  • Available blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert

Warranty and maintenance coverage

Audi’s limited and powertrain warranties are in line with Mercedes and Porsche ‘s plans . The RS6 Avant also benefits from a short period of scheduled maintenance.

Price Audi RS6

The price of the Audi RS6 in Europe is between 8600 euros and 11500 euros. The third generation costs 1 million 16,000 to 23,000 euros.
