Audi SQ3 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The second generation of the smallest Audi crossover is here. What’s next for the Q3 lineup? Well, the German automaker is replacing it. The Q3 won’t be the smallest vehicle in the lineup. The new Q2 will take its position. And the lineup of compact crossovers is expecting some updates.
SUV Audi SQ3
Soon after the second generation came out, the first spy photos of the special version came out. The Audi SQ3 is now confirmed and the company revealed first details about the performance-oriented vehicle. We expect the RS Q3 to follow the SQ version.
While the RS Q3 was already part of the lineup, this is the debut for the new model. The Audi SQ3 will retune the exterior and add some sportiness to the cockpit. These updates are striking and functional, but the main change comes under the hood of the crossover. The last RS model was able to produce 360 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque. The new SQ3 will bring a little less power. Experts say the RS will dominate again with 400 hp under the hood.
Technical data
Audi Q3 uses a 2.0-liter engine that can produce 200 hp. The same unit, but the different setup maximizes the power to 350 hp. For example, the S3 sedan produces 310 hp. We’ll see how Audi engineers will manage that. Of course, few things are certain about this model. Although it is still awaiting official confirmation, we can bet that the MQB platform with the Quattro drive system will be part of the Audi SQ3. Well, the RS model will get those too. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is a power mill. Ceramic discs and six-pot calipers are part of the major braking system. According to estimates, this crossover will need a little less than 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km per hour from a stop.
SQ3 vs RS Q3
The RS is a higher rung in the Audi hierarchy. That means more power. Further, this results in a faster 0-100 km per hour time. The RS Q3 stops the clock at 4 seconds thanks to the 2.5-liter engine. The new generation powertrain will pack some muscle and beat the next sibling. The same transmission is there, as is the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
What will the Audi SQ3 look like?
The camouflage hides details about the prototypes of the new Audi SQ3. But we can still manage to find out something juicy about the upcoming model. For example, the company couldn’t hide the new exhaust system with quad tips. You can recognize the SQ version by the unique grille. However, the RS will have one too. Bigger wheels and arches are improvements that improve performance. Again, RS gets the more expensive option with 20-inchers, while the SQ3 will have 19-inch rims. Lots of black inserts and details are expected. However, we can’t confirm this until the company unveils the crossover.
cockpit
Inside the cabin, we will see even more upgrades. Well, both the Audi SQ3 and the RS model need a sportier interior. A flat-bottomed steering wheel can’t be a mistake. Of course, many systems and devices will be present. The large touchscreen display is the controller for most functions. Digital cluster replaces the classic layout. Leather and aluminum accents make this sporty crossover more elegant. Of course, the SQ3 belongs to the high-end class and its seats will be upholstered in leather. The volume of the cockpit will be the same as the standard Audi Q3. However, thanks to the new layout, passengers in the front seats could have more legroom. This means either less space for rear seat occupants or for cargo.
Competitors
Few competitors will wait for the release of the Audi SQ3 to see a new rival. First up are two German automakers that make performance versions of their premium crossovers. In this class, the Mercedes-Benz GLA dominates . However, with the new BMW X3 M package and the Audi SQ3, Mercedes will have to make some changes to its model. The Range Rover Evoque is brand new and its engine lineup offers some spectacular numbers. If rumors come true, Acura could add the Type S version for its RDX compact crossover.
Release date and price
The base model of this crossover starts at €35,000. The Premium Plus package adds €4,000 for the AWD Quattro model. The last performance-oriented RS vehicle cost €60,000. The Audi SQ3 will be cheaper, but not by much. With 150 more ponies than the base crossover and numerous other upgrades, we can expect this model to cost at least €50,000.
Exact pricing and the full list of upgrades and specifications we’ll have with the next Q3 update. The company will launch quietly in MY and the high performance versions will take the spotlight for the season.
