Bentley Flying Spur 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Although it was built from the ground up to pamper its passengers, the Bentley Flying Spur also has an athletic chassis to entertain the driver. A trio of engine options – including a new plug-in hybrid – offer seemingly endless power, and its deft handling turns lazy weekend cruises into joyful driving experiences. The cabin delights the senses with premium leather, wood and metal accents, mixed with modern technology and amenities.

The back seat is particularly relaxing, especially when equipped with luxury features such as rear bucket seats that are electrically adjustable and heated armrests. However, the Flying Spur’s unbeatable blend of luxury and performance comes with a staggering six-figure price tag, and that’s before you start with the customization options from Bentle ‘s Mulliner line of personalization features.

What’s new ?

A plug-in hybrid powertrain joins the lineup , delivering 536 horsepower from a combination of a twin-turbo V-6 and an electric motor. The hybrid powertrain is expected to run purely on electric power thanks to its 14.1-kWh battery pack, but the EV’s range should be fairly limited. Buyers of the Flying Spur hybrid may have to remind their friends at the country club of its green credentials, however, as Bentley has done little to differentiate the car from its V-8 and W-12-powered family members.

Upgrading from the base V-8 engine and the more powerful W-12 is an easy choice in our view. Bentley customers can choose from one of several curated themes such as Cool Harmony, Storm Noir or Alter Ego when ordering their Flying Spur. A seemingly endless selection of exterior colors and styling options awaits you in the Bentley Mulliner customization program. The same goes for the interior, which can include different types of wood, different colored leather and polished metal accents. Upgrading from the standard City specification to the Touring specification adds several driver assistance features, and there’s even an optional chiller compartment to keep your champagne chilled.

Engine, transmission and performance

All Flying Spurs come with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a powerful twin-turbocharged engine. A 542-horsepower V-8 is standard, but we recommend upgrading to the 626-horsepower W-12 engine. With 12 cylinders under the hood, the Flying Spur never lacks for power. In fact, it can show its taillights to many top sports cars in a drag race. At our test track, it jumped to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The V-8-powered model delivered an identical 3.5-second zero-to-60 mph run, but the W-12 is slightly quicker to 60 mph and through the quarter mile. A plug-in hybrid powertrain is also available, combining a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 with an electric motor for a combined 536 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque. When we took the Flying Spur for a quick drive near Monaco, we found it to be far sportier than we expected. The agility must be thanks to the sedan’s adaptive suspension and rear-wheel steering system. Back in our home state of Michigan, the Flying Spur repeated its performance from our earlier drive, offering a much-needed break from the cratered roads that plague the area near our newsroom.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The Flying Spur’s fuel economy estimates from the EPA look like they’re more for a pickup truck than a sedan, earning 12 mpg city and 19 highway with the W-12 engine under the hood. Fuel economy ratings for the V-8-powered variant come in at 15 mpg city and 20 highway. The Flying Spur’s main rival – the Rolls-Royce Ghost – doesn’t fare any better at the pump. The Flying Spur hybrid should offer better fuel economy, but the EPA hasn’t released estimates for that model yet. For more information on the Flying Spur’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Interior, comfort and cargo

Sumptuous leather, real wood trim and real metal accents line the interior of the Flying Spur. There is plenty of room in the front or back for adults to stretch out and enjoy the luxurious surroundings. Bentley’s interior designers have managed to preserve the brand’s simple and proper styling while incorporating modern technological features.

A remote touchscreen controller mounted on the back of the center console allows rear passengers to adjust certain things without asking the driver for help. For example, they can use it to open and close the blinds, regulate the cabin climate and activate the rear seat massagers. A generous trunk offers plenty of room for luggage, cases of champagne or a day of impulse shopping on Rodeo Drive.

Infotainment and connectivity

A large 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is nicely placed between large wooden slats on the Flying Spur’s dashboard. For a price, Bentley swaps the static infotainment screen for a rotating display that—you might have guessed—rotates the screen into the dashboard and features a wooden panel with three analogue dials (an outside temperature gauge, a clock, and a compass). Passengers can connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot, and those with compatible smartphones will enjoy Spur’s Apple CarPlay integration. Bentley offers a 10-speaker stereo system as standard, but will install one of two premium audio systems for more money. Buyers can upgrade to either the 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup or the 19-speaker Naim system with illuminated speaker grilles.

Safety and driver assistance functions

Bentley offers several driver assistance features; unfortunately, many of them cost extra. For more information on the Flying Spur’s crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:

  • Standard forward collision warning with pedestrian detection
  • Available automatic emergency braking
  • Available adaptive cruise control and night vision

Warranty and maintenance coverage

Bentley offers a three-year warranty when purchasing a new model, but unlike plans from more mainstream luxury brands, there is no mileage limit. Rolls-Royce offers a similar service but offers its customers four years of coverage. In addition, Rolls-Royce offers four years of free scheduled maintenance, while Bentley only covers one year.

Price Bentley Flying Spur

In Europe, the Bentley Flying Spur starts at 135,000 euros for the V8 version and 160,000 euros for the twelve-cylinder version.
