BMW I3 2025: Updated Electric Car Model
The updated BMW I3 model is part of the future versions that the German automaker is producing. Although some would say that this is the most unusual car that BMW has ever produced, we cannot deny the technological advancement of the car. It is the most environmentally oriented and positive car to come out of Germany and although it is expensive, its value goes beyond mere money.

Electronic cars are considered any technology. Computers are becoming outdated and are being replaced every day and you can say the same for electronic vehicles. In order not to lose momentum and maintain the momentum they started with the first batch of I3 cars, they need to be updated from time to time. The Refresh is the next part of the development for the BMW I3 car.
What they need to do with the upcoming model is fix the interior and give the car a little more range. The competition is already gaining the upper hand by offering a much cheaper offering and an extended range offering. To remain competitive, the BMW I3 will need to make sure that these pieces of the puzzle are addressed.
The images of the new model have just been released fresh from testing, so there is a lot to discuss when it comes to the production of this car and the possible release date.
Possible release date for the BMW I3
While we don’t expect the BMW I3 to come out anytime soon, we will see it in a few years. Based on the current styling and development of the car, we can expect it to come out at the start of the season.
Estimated price
Due to the planned enhancements of the BMW I3, we can say that the price will increase. There is a strong possibility that the pricing will go beyond the current base MSRP of €42,400 (Euros). This could be a bad move as the current competing cars are priced lower than the current version.
Exterior styling
The future BMW I3 will likely have to maintain its familiar styling from the start. The model is a staple of the BMW brand and is instantly recognizable on the road. The design can still hold its own, so we predict that not so many changes will be needed on this car.
Apart from that, what will surely be carried over is the front end with the characteristic blacked-out mock grille with the Frozen Blue color variant, which has already become one of the signature looks of the BMW line. We hope that the snub nose and distinctive profile will return and this will be enhanced with a few aesthetic touches here and there. The combination of present and modern will bring a world of good to BMW’s future I3 model.
Within changes
The interior of the BMW I3 will likely undergo the same changes as the exterior. The current model has a distinctive Scandinavian look. Some would say this is unique and only possible for the BMW I3 model, and to some extent it is true. The dashboard has a good looking design and actually seems like a tablet has been placed on the front, while all the controls are simple at best. We don’t see these overcomplicated things too much for the interior and only add the most necessary features.
As for comfort, the current model offers a variety of materials and colors. The basic one is the Mega World, which comes with recycled SensaTec upholstery. The top-tier Tera World has almost the same material build, but offers all of them in a darker and more mysterious shade. We can say that the materials inside will become even more comfortable and there is a probability that a number of new trims will make their way into the car as part of the refresh.
Drivetrain capability and performance
The BMW I3’s powertrain will need changes. The current setup offers one of the older electronic motor offerings, although it has managed to expand the range with the latest offering. The new model may continue to use the combination of a 2.4-gallon fuel tank and a 33 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, resulting in 125 kilowatts or 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The current range is 114 miles. If they want to keep their car as competitive as their rivals, they will need to update that motor and at least put more mileage and range on it.
0-62 mph per hour acceleration
This will depend on the powertrain of the BMW I3 and how much the acceleration and specs of the vehicle will be improved. Right now, the car can reach 100 km per hour in 7 seconds while reaching a top speed of 93 mph. It might be difficult to go beyond that for the latest car, but they will surely try to update the specs a bit.
Fuel consumption specifications for the BMW I3
The BMW I3 might also try to become even more energy efficient than it actually is. This is where the I3 manages to exceed its completion even with the current setup. Thanks to the range extension and the use of the new battery, the car is even better and certainly has better performance than the competing cars. With the old battery, the car had a range of 81 miles and achieved an MPGe rating of 118, while the new battery extends its range to 114 miles and an MPGe of 124. Only if they stay in the same range will they do a good job and if they manage to offer something beyond the current setup, it will only be something for the buyers.
Are there any dimensional changes?
Probably not. At this point, there is no need to change the dimensions for the BMW I3 model. Everything will probably stay the same, and although it is a two-passenger car that has a cramped cargo area, it could be a bit refined. But what they could actually do here is be clever and just move things inward a little. This way, it will provide more space and a little more cargo space without having to change the dimensions of the entire vehicle. This is the possible solution for the car at the moment.
Security specification
The basic safety equipment will be carried over to the BMW I3 vehicle. We expect them to take the current offering, which is already great, and repeat it again in the new model. While there will be improvements, the basic type of setup will be the same. We mean six airbags, including seat-mounted side airbags, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and parking assist. There are some additional options that are currently available through the offered packages that the car offers, but they may just become part of your standard equipment with the new type of vehicle.
List of competing cars
Although the competitors for the BMW I3 have not changed since the brand’s launch, some of them have already managed to surpass the I3. We mean Chevrolet Bolt EV , an already cheaper variant with a longer range. There is also another Chevrolet product, namely the Chevy Volt, and of course cars like the Nissan Leaf , Volkswagen E-Golf , Tesla Model S as well as Tesla Model X . The market for electronic cars is tight and an update for the new BMW i3 car is more than necessary.
