BMW i9 Hybrid 2025: Innovative hybrid based on the i8 heritage

Call it sophistication or technological advancement, but what the Bavarian engine works have produced is certainly nothing less than that. Celebrating a century with the BMW i9 Hybrid is quite an occasion, and nothing has been released yet, but our mule can guarantee us that it will be a four-door car built on the previous chassis of the i8 model.

There are some rumors that it could be a high-performance luxury vehicle and will be released in the middle of this year specifically in April then it will be showcased at the Beijing Auto Show. At such an early stage, it is not certain if it will be sporty like the i8 reminiscent of the nine-series GT or if it will be a sports/sedan like the Jaguar XJ. It is still shrouded in mystery but trust our sources, we will surely get to the bottom of this soon so read on and check out our spy pictures.

BMW i9 Hybrid Price and Release Date

This high-end model will debut at nothing less than €135,700. It is expected that the quantity produced will be limited, but then this will obviously cost you more. We are talking about €40,000 in addition, so somewhere around €175,000. The BMW i9 Hybrid was certainly an expectation for the automotive industry and BMW fans around the world. The Europeans and the rest of Europe should expect the car in the fall summer of , if it is presented as planned in April.

Interior and exterior design

As mentioned, the BMW i9 Hybrid will take on some features from the i8, but will also have its own design statement. A revision to the hood scoop is coming soon and the wheels will be 20 inches. The front air intakes may also be changed like the Outback. A different spoiler and a redesigned tailgate finish are expected, although the front fascia as well as the opening doors will remain the same as the i8. There will be some different features in the interior, like different colors, the floating touchscreen display will certainly remain. Expect modern gauges and expect even more advanced, top quality materials from BMW.

Engine

If we take a closer look at the BMW i9 Hybrid, the power should be the real deal here, which will be substantially more than the 3-cylinder, 1.5L i8 that makes 357 horsepower, meaning we should now expect an improved 150 horsepower electric motor in synergy with a 6-cylinder, 3-liter engine capable of 425 horsepower. Imagine how they fit on the i8 chassis is anything to go by. Year after year, electric cars are getting more and more sophisticated, while the i8 has a six-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, the hybrid is sure to have something even better. According to our trusty mule, we expect a sophisticated intelligent engine capable of switching from gasoline to electricity and vice versa at different speeds, so expect a very advanced automatic transmission.

BMW i9 Hybrid 0-100

With a 6-cylinder engine offering a whopping 425 hp and 150 hp from an electric motor, we should expect a 0-100 in around 4 seconds as well as a top speed of 250 km/h.
