The new BMW M3 has a great legacy to live up to. The M3 has always been one of BMW’s most popular brands. The track-ready sports car was one of their most popular releases and was seen on the cover of magazines and various posters dotted around walls everywhere. That legacy was hard to match and the car managed to do it during its stints in the 80s and 90s.

When can we expect the release date for the BMW M3?
The BMW M3 is expected to drop in 2017. The release date has not been officially confirmed, but it has been said that even though this car is labeled as a release, fans will see it a little earlier. This means that the car may be available just a few months before the start of the model year.
Price speculation
As for the price of the BMW M3, it won’t be cheap. Expect the price to increase a bit from the current one and go beyond the €64,000 (Euros) you pay for the current version of the M3.
Exterior styling
The styling cues for the BMW M3 are getting a bit of an update. But they aren’t turning this car into a completely different one, so they’re sticking with what they currently have. This means there are some aesthetic improvements, but most of it is aimed at improving the car’s performance. Advanced aerodynamics allow the car to perform better and faster, flying through the air much more efficiently. Standard output is 425 horsepower and 408 pound-feet of torque, but as mentioned, the performance package can provide an extra boost and the car can jump to an astonishing 444 horsepower with it. When it comes to selecting the transmission, you can choose between a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) or a 6-speed manual.
0-62 mph per hour power and top speed
With the base engine setup, the BMW M3 can jump to 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, while the performance package allows it to go even beyond that. Top speed is still kept at around 163 mph.
Fuel values and economy
We can’t really say that the BMW M3 will be a fuel-efficient car. The performance-oriented model isn’t a typical car where you can hope to save fuel, as that’s completely impossible. EPA rates for this model are estimated at 17 MPG city, 26 highway, 20 combined when using the 6-speed manual transmission, or 17/24/19 MPG with the 7-speed automatic. Not something to boast about, but it’s an expected type of performance from this type of model.
Dimensions and comfort
There is no word on dimensional changes for the BMW M3, but a more spectacular thing about the body of the car is that it will lose a lot of weight. To make this vehicle as performance-oriented as possible, they decided to lose a lot of weight. The car uses a lot of carbon fiber pieces and aluminum materials, which results in it losing 176 pounds, for a total weight of 3,540 pounds. The model can get even lighter with the Competition package, which will reduce the weight even further. But the dimensions will likely remain the same.
