BMW M760Li xDrive 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Similar to the sixth generation BMW 7 Series, the new BMW M760Li xDrive uses high rigidity and lightweight carbon fiber elements in the Carbon Core structure of the passenger cell. This essentially made it possible to achieve a low center of gravity, which is crucial for dynamic handling and agility. The release date should be expected in early .
M760Li xDrive
BMW has publicly expressed its plans to unveil the new BMW M760Li xDrive at this year’s Geneva Motor Show scheduled for this month – March 2016. In fact, this model is the first M Performance 7 Series, fitting perfectly into the previous 760Li range.
When it comes to the performance requirements of the M760Li, the V12 is specially equipped with an aluminum TwinPower Turbo V12 6.6L engine. Stability is provided by the threaded support bolts and bushings on the twin bolts on the main bearings. Forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods and aluminum pistons help reduce vibrations, so we should expect the xDrive V12 to be very smooth on the pavement.
The engine additionally features a water pump and a redesigned intercooler. With these specifications, the mill should be able to reach a top speed of around 250 km/h and do 0-62 mph in just under 3.9 seconds. This is made possible by the power output of 600 hp and 800 Nm of torque. According to BMW, fuel economy is further enhanced by the stop-start function, which allows fuel to be saved whenever the vehicle is stopped. The result is a combined fuel economy of around 22.4 mpg and 294 g/km of carbon (IV) oxide gas.
This power is transferred via the standard eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission system to the standard all-wheel drive system, which includes M Performance-specific tuning with launch control and a manual mode.
When it comes to aerodynamics, the new BMW M760Li xDrive gets new trim elements on the lower edge of the doors, two large air intakes and a new front apron. In addition, the rear apron has been redesigned and includes an optional M-Sport rear spoiler and Cerium Grey twin tailpipes.
Despite its dizzying sophistication and technology, the new BMW M760Li xDrive faces a tough competitor in this segment. The closest is the Audi S8 Plus. This vehicle offers plenty of passenger space, understated styling and ungodly power. Performance is good, coming in at 605 horsepower and 516 lbs. ft of torque produced by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The other bogey is the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG model that follows in the footsteps of Audi and BMW. With a power output of 621 hp and acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour in just under 4.0 seconds and a glamorous S-Class, you will surely be confused as to who is following which footprints.
Engine specifications and fuel consumption
Motivating the BMW M760Li xDrive is an all-aluminum V12 twin-turbo 6.6-liter engine that produces 600 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 590 lbs. ft. of torque at 1,500 rpm. Although some may complain about the astonishingly low 1,500 rpm, BMW says the numbers are currently preliminary and full specifications will be offered in due course.
As mentioned, expect 0-60 mph acceleration in under 3.9 seconds and 155 mph as the top speed – this figure can be increased to as much as 186 mph if you can push the pedal a little harder.
The level of “roar” is up to an individual user. The vehicle is equipped with an optional flap activation system that gives the user the option of either sonorous V12 explosions or silent rides.
Optimum shift patterns for the V-12 are provided by the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission system included in the M Performance package. It comes with a manual shift mode and a launch control system that provides zero converter slip outside of gear changes. The sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, offered standard on the M760Li, is rear-biased for quicker handling and uses fully variable torque distribution between the rear and front axles.
External report & changes
Standard accessories and features include the latest generation BMW Professional Multimedia system, Pure Excellence exterior design content and the Pure Excellence interior design package, with more of these expected on release date.
Release date & price
Pricing for the BMW M760Li xDrive should be expected sometime in early . While pricing details are unknown at this point, given the specification and segment competition, I’d bet a starting MSRP of around $150,000.
