BMW X4 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The relationship between X4 and X3 crossovers is the same as that between X5 and X6. A vehicle with the larger number is the coupe version of the model with an odd number in the name. The upcoming BMW X4 could bring a lot of changes.
BMW X4
The coupe-crossover was introduced in 2018. After the break in all automotive premieres, we may see the first refresh of the X4. Two main reasons for this are declining sales and competition. The redesign will definitely increase interest in BMW vehicle. On the other hand, there are not too many competitors in this segment, and the German manufacturer wants to consolidate its position.
Since its arrival, the X4 has been making a lot of intrigue. Somehow, fans expected the X3 M to follow the same path as the X5 and X6 . Now there is also the X7 and we believe the X8 is the next new model from BMW. In the meantime, the automaker will redesign and update the existing X crossover and SUV range. Besides visual changes, electrification is one of the biggest questions. The iX3 is on the way, and so is the iX5 . Well, there are some reasons to believe in the BMW X4 hybrid or electric model.
Why buy the BMW X4? And why not?
Pros: The BMW X4 will be a brand new model with a fresh look. That’s enough for most fans to wait for an upcoming vehicle. Also, the crossover will update the interior, and besides the new layout, we will also find a lot more cool features. The X4 is already a luxurious model, and BMW is ready to take it to another level. In addition to styling, you can expect powerful powertrains as always. The X4 M is worth investing in. The high-performance version is the top of the class model. We can also count on excellent handling, driver assistance features and high-quality materials.
Cons: the price. BMW is a premium carmaker and all the perks it offers cost a lot. Plus, all the optional packages make the X4’s MSRP pretty hefty. The attractive coupe chassis does have its drawbacks – the lack of rear-row passenger headroom and less trunk space. Android Auto is still not offered by the company, while Apple CarPlay should become standard on the BMW X4. For now, you’ll have to subscribe to this service.
BMW X4 M
The ultimate version of the BMW X4 is the M Performance model. A 3.0-liter inline-six engine is turbocharged. It’s hard to expect the new version to pump up more power, as the current version makes 503 hp. The restyling makes the X4 more aerodynamic and lighter, and drops the 0-62 mph sprint time to under 4 seconds. There’s also a lot of additional equipment that makes the package very expensive. The heavily loaded X4M will reach €75,000 (Euro). Add the Competitor package and you’ll pay almost €8,000 (Euro) above the starting price.
Technical data
Well, a 500-horsepower version is not the only one. Few buyers opt for this model. The base crossover is equipped with a 2.0 flat-four unit capable of producing 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Despite this, the BMW X4 will be one of the most powerful compact crossovers. However, the engineers do not stop there and improve the offer with the M40i package. The heart of this bundle is a 3.0-liter inline-six powertrain. However, in this case, it can produce “only” 382 ponies and 365 pound-feet. BMW uses a six- or eight-speed automatic transmission. Even the smaller crossover is quite fast. The acceleration time from 0 to 60 is 4.9 seconds, while the I6 cuts 0.5 seconds.
BMW iX4 all-electric crossover
After the iX3, we could see the new EV in car dealerships. Well, the redesign must provide the platform that can support the electric powertrain. However, the gain would be huge, as the battery is good for a range of 250 miles on the X3. The BMW X4 would be lighter and could increase the distance between charges. Still, the coupe-crossover would need many other improvements, especially on the dashboard.
If the X4 goes electric, the company will also provide the autonomous driving system. BMW is very ambitious. The bosses announced the development of Level 4. Still, the current driver assistance features are pretty cool. You get parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and lane keeping assist. However, the upcoming system will add automatic braking and accelerator and even the automatic parking option. Level 4 is an almost self-driving car. The German carmaker will skip all the lower levels and try to introduce a radical change in the luxury segment.
BMW X4 Price
The BMW X4 will cost the same as it does now. The premium compact crossover is already above €50,000 (Euro) and the M40i costs €61,000 (Euro). This one could add a bit of value for next season.
