BMW X8 2025: Price, interior, redesign, picture.
Well, it’s not like we didn’t expect something like this. Yes, the company’s flagship X7 is about to get its two-row coupe iteration. The new model is expected to arrive by the end of this year, but some sources suggest it could come in concept form sooner than expected. So for now, we’ll call it the BMW X8 , although the production version is more likely to arrive as a model year.
SUV BMW X8
In any case, most things are pretty easy to predict. The new model has been spotted on the road, and although it still wears camouflage, we know that the Bavarian automaker will take the same approach in the case of the X6 , which came as a coupe version of the popular mid-size X5 crossover . It will use the same mechanicals and interior, but some sources suggest that we could see a slightly different front end compared to its three-row siblings.
Redesign
When it comes to basic design features, things are pretty easy to predict. The BMW X8 will have the same mechanicals as the X5 . It will ride on the same version of the CLAR platform and have the same wheelbase, which is approximately 122.2 inches. On the other hand, expect a shorter rear overhang, which would make for a slightly sportier appearance.
When it comes to styling, the flagship 7-seater will surely serve as a base, but the main difference will be in the rear section, which features a sloping roof that provides a coupe-like appearance. Some sources also suggest a different front-end design. While this seems hard to believe, the chances of seeing such an approach are actually quite high. If you look at the test mule, the headlights look different despite the camouflage.
Inner
This aspect will not be that different, except that there will only be two rows of seats. This will be the main difference between the two models. At this point it is difficult to say whether the sloping roof will reduce headroom in the second row, but we have no doubt that the cargo area will be significantly smaller.
More importantly, the dashboard is likely to have an identical layout. This means a relatively simplistic design approach, but a full load of premium materials and technical features. Of course, there is always room for exclusive features like unique color schemes and similar things. However, we have no doubt that most things will remain the same. This refers to the list of standard and available features, which should be quite similar to the one in X7.
Engines
We don’t expect any major surprises in the engine lineup either. So base models would likely feature a familiar 3.0-liter turbo inline-six that produces around 335 hp. The 4.4-liter V8 should be available in some variants with 523 or 600 hp. Of course, European models would also be offered with diesel engines.
Some sources suggest that the Bavarian automaker could offer an entirely new version of the V8 engine for the BMW X8 . Rumors suggest that the maximum power would rise to 750 hp. At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials.
BMW X8 release date and price
The BMW X8 is scheduled to debut in the second half of the year. Once it arrives, we expect the base price to be around €80,000 (Euro) . The BMW X8’s competitors will be the Aston Martin DBX , Range Rover SV and Lamborghini Urus .
