BOLLINGER B1 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The boxy BOLLINGER B1 SUV may look like old-fashioned gasoline-burning off-road vehicles from the past, but it features a modern, all-electric 614-horsepower transmission. Here we see parts of the original Ford Bronco as well as the Land Rover Defender .

Pick up BOLLINGER B1

The B1 will be built alongside the B2 pickup in Detroit, and both are expected to offer a range of 200 miles between charges. The B1 is a utilitarian affair, and from what we can see so far, its interior is devoid of nearly any luxury. We’ll learn more about the B1 when it’s officially unveiled in production form in September 2019.

Engine, transmission and performance

The BOLLINGER B1 has two electric motors – one located on the front axle, the second powering the rear – that produce a combined 614 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, and Bollinger estimates a zero-to-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. A two-speed transfer case provides both high and low range for the all-wheel-drive system. Combined with 15 inches of ground clearance, this should give the B1 true off-road capability. Towing capacity is a whopping 7500 pounds, and payload capacity is 5201 pounds.

Range, charging and battery life

An integrated 120 kWh battery is said to provide a range of up to 200 miles. The B1 can be charged using 110-volt or 220-volt outlets, but DC fast charging is also offered. Bollinger claims that this option will allow a full charge in around 75 minutes. The company says it will take around 10 hours at 220 volts, and does not provide an estimate for charging from a 110-volt outlet.

Fuel consumption and real MPG

Official fuel economy figures are not available, but Bollinger estimates 70 MPGe for the B1.

Interior, comfort and cargo

The cabin of the BOLLINGER B1 is simple and unadorned, but there is room for four adults in individual bucket seats. The rear seats fold down and then fold against the SUV’s side windows to make room for additional cargo. Speaking of cargo, the B1 has a special pass-through from the cabin to the front trunk that allows it to accommodate items nearly as long as the SUV itself. If you prefer off-roading in the open air, the B1 has removable doors, windshield and side windows, but air conditioning is standard if you prefer a more regulated climate control system.
