Both the new sedan car and the previously introduced SUV will be built on the same platform, which will later be joined by a seven-seat MPV.
AUTOPILOT
Sensor integration for autonomous driving is at the heart of the design aesthetics of the BYTON K-Byte concept. Featuring an elegant and slim module on the roof, the arched BYTON LiBow system integrates lidar sensors at the front and rear to provide a full-view panoramic scan of the vehicle’s surroundings.
BYTON’s LiGuards retractable side lidar system is located below the side cameras. The system is used in autonomous driving mode to ensure driving safety and automatically retract when parking. In addition, these lidars can all be illuminated for a number of specific purposes, such as signaling pedestrians.
OUTSIDE
BYTON’s designers have carefully polished every line without superfluous decoration, although the innovative design of the C-pillar draws inspiration from the buttresses of architecture, offering a graceful curve while delivering aerodynamic performance. The windows and sunroof have been extended to emphasize safety while creating a spacious greenhouse for the driver and passengers to fully enjoy the outside world.
The BYTON K-Byte concept also features an impressive front end, enhanced BYTON Smart Surfaces fitted to both the fascia and rear to create a stunning echo effect, and an arrangement of light strips that create a deep three-dimensional appearance while providing a greater sense of technology used. Just above the Smart Surfaces is an integrated taillight that extends to the rear, drawing comparisons to the horizon.
