Cadillac CT6

The new design of the CT6 brings us a car that is closer to the European luxury models. It has revised its dimensions and now has a wheelbase that is the same as the BMW 7 Series. However, thanks to the new materials incorporated, the car weighs the same as a smaller CTS car, since it is mainly made of aluminum.

Design

At first, it was announced that the car would have a design based on the design of the Elmiraj concept, but that was actually not the case. When the vehicle was released, many rumors were spread when the car actually had a completely different styling. It actually includes an evolutionary development of the Art and Science style of the current CTS and ATS sedans. At first, this was a disappointment for fans, but the new look, which expresses the dashboard-to-axle ratio and features a short front overhang, actually highlights the luxury car proportions that the car has now, and also its rear-wheel drive.

The front part of the vehicle looks very good and actually looks like it was carved out of a solid block. The vertical headlights frame the new grille design that looks similar to that of the CTS and ATS designs. The sides look more generic and the new shape actually offers more comfort on the inside and adds extra distance. The rear is typical Cadillac that you can see from many vehicles in their production line. The angular style is very clean and there are no extra lines to spoil this look.

Inner

Inside, the Cadillac CT6 makes a more obvious mark, using some lines and features that will be a trademark in their own right. It doesn’t share many similarities with the other cars from the Cadillac lineup, only carrying over the CUE infotainment system. The CT6 can boast with perhaps the largest amount of interior storage space, as it has a 2.2-liter storage volume in the center console. The center console also uses a 0.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display. There’s even a smaller touchpad on the armrest that you can also use if it’s easier for you. Some sophisticated units come with the 360-degree camera view around the vehicle or a night vision system.

Cadillac also announces that the Cadillac CT6 will utilize the industry’s first application of full-display technology. This means that the interior mirror will be combined with the rearview camera to provide a view of the rear of the vehicle. The 360-degree camera system can also be used to record the front and rear views of the car and provide them to you. Also worth mentioning is the four-zone climate control system and a 34-speaker Bose audio system in the cabin.

Under the hood of the Cadillac CT6 is the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that can develop approximately 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This engine uses cylinder deactivation technology and can deliver wonderful specifications and performance to the CT6 car with the lighter overall weight of the car. It is also paired with a light-speed automatic transmission.

There is the second option, which uses the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder and a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It is equipped with four-wheel drive and a continuously variable clutch that supplies power to the front wheels. A special feature of this engine is the use of Magnetic Ride Control and Active Rear Steer, which are used for the first time in a Cadillac vehicle.

Price and release date

Perhaps the car will offer a wider price range than its competitors, but there are no official releases about the exact price of the Cadillac CT6. The best assumption given is that the car will have a base MSRP of €60,000 (Euros), but some even say it will go even higher. The car will be offered next year, actually in early , and may be released as early as January.
