Cadillac Lyriq 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The forerunner of the large Cadillac Lyriq electric crossover was the concept of the same name, which was shown in late summer . The production version of the model, which debuted on April 21, generally retained the prototype design, but at the same time received classic rear-view mirrors and a slightly different look. The new product will be assembled at the plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee. A joint venture of GM and LG based in Lordstown, Ohio, will produce batteries for the electric vehicle.
Technology and dimensions of the Cadillac Lyriq
The new Cadillac electric car is based on a simplified version of the Ultium platform, which underlies the GMC Hummer EV SUV. Lyric has a five-link suspension with passive shock absorbers and so far only rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive modifications will appear in the future). The power of the engine that drives the rear wheels is 340 hp. and 440 Nm.
The model is equipped with a lithium-ion traction battery consisting of 12 modules and a capacity of 100 kW*h. A fully charged battery provides a range of 483 km (measured according to the EPA method). The battery energy can be charged both from a regular socket (maximum power 19.2 kW) and from a DC terminal (up to 190 kW). In the latter case, the range increases by 122 km in ten minutes of charging time.
The new Cadillac Lyriq is 4996 mm long, 1977 mm wide and 1623 mm high. The wheelbase is 3094 mm. The crossover is equipped with 20-inch (265/50 R20 tires) or 22-inch (275/40 R22) wheels. The vehicle weighs 2545 kg when equipped.
Design and features of the model
The Cadillac novelty is characterized by a modern exterior with clean surfaces and a low roofline. The highlight of the Lyric is the original front end with a striped insert instead of the radiator grille and vertical running light strips made of a serial flashing diode chain. The rear also has an interesting lighting technology with separate upper and lower parts. The strongly inclined fifth door is crowned with a streamlined spoiler that improves aerodynamic performance when driving on the highway.
The key element of the cabin is a 33-inch curved digital panel that combines instruments and a multimedia system. Such a screen can display up to 1 billion shades. There is a separate block of climate control buttons on the center console, and the tunnel between the seats from above is not connected to the front panel. The controls for adjusting the position of the front seats and activating comfort functions are located on the door cards.
The crossover package includes AKG Studio acoustics with 19 speakers (including those built into the headrests) and an active noise cancellation system (minimizes tire hum). On the highway, the driver can rely on the Super Cruise autopilot, which can scan adjacent lanes and then initiate a lane change when the maneuver is deemed safe (triggered after the turn signal is turned on). The strength of the brake regeneration is changed via switches on the steering wheel.
The interior of the Cadillac Lyriq uses metal and wood, while only two color schemes have been announced – Sky Cool Gray and Noir. The headroom for the rear passengers is specified as 1006 mm. The trunk of an electric car has a capacity of 793 to 1723 liters.
Price Cadillac Lyriq
Americans will be able to order the Cadillac Lyriq crossover starting in September this year, although the first cars will not roll off the assembly line until early . The base price of the model has been announced – €59,990 (Euro) without subsidies.
