Chevrolet Bolt EV und Bolt EUV 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
On February 14, two new electric cars were presented in Europe. One of them is the restyled Chevrolet Bolt EV hatchback, an improved version of the 2017 model. The second is a completely new crossover Chevrolet Bolt EUV , which is built on the basis of the usual Bolt, but differs from it in form factor and partly in configuration. The expansion of the family should help attract additional customers who prefer vehicles in the SUV category.
Design and dimensions
The basic five-door Bolt EV received a new look during the modernization with narrow headlights and a body-colored plug instead of the radiator grille. At the rear, the lanterns and bumper received a different design. The dimensions of the hatchback were 4145x1765x1611 mm with a wheelbase of 2600 mm.
The Chevrolet Bolt EUV crossover has a similar body design, so the cars can be confused from some angles. However, the newcomer of the family is given by other proportions, a higher belt line, a different configuration of the roof pillars and the presence of roof rails. The SUV is slightly longer than the hatchback: its wheelbase has been increased by 75 mm (up to 2675 mm), and its overall length by 161 mm (up to 4306 mm). At the same time, the width and height are almost identical – 1770 and 1616 mm (both there and there +5 mm).
Interior
The redesigned Bolt has a new front panel, as well as different seats and steering wheel. On the center tunnel, the joystick for controlling the transmission has been replaced by a button block, and a single-pedal drive button has been added to increase the level of recuperation when braking with the accelerator pedal released. There are two information screens: the virtual instrument cluster is 8 inches in size, the main media center screen is 10.2 inches.
The Bolt EUV crossover has almost the same interior space as the hatchback. However, there are original door cards and even more spacious rear seats, as the rows are spaced 76 mm apart compared to the original model. The trunk turned out to be less spacious: 462 liters versus 470 liters in the base EV version.
An extended package of options has been prepared for the Chevrolet Bolt EUV SUV. It includes ventilation of the front and heated rear seats, as well as a panoramic roof with a sunroof. In addition, Bolt was assigned a Super Cruise autopilot with EUV attachment, which takes control of the car without the need to be hands on the steering wheel. True, the system tracks the driver’s line of sight and in this case reminds of the need to follow the road by issuing visual and acoustic warnings.
From the equipment of both electric cars, we mention wireless charging of smartphones, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi access point and panoramic cameras. The range of electronic assistants includes automatic braking, lane keeping assist, cross traffic tracking when reversing, automatic switching of headlights.
Specifications
The hatchback and crossover Bolt are equipped with a 204 hp electric motor. (360 Nm), which is mounted on the front axle and powered by a 65 kWh lithium-ion traction battery. On a single charge, the Bolt EV model can travel 416 km, the Bolt EUV – 402 km. When connected to a standard 240 V outlet, the battery is recharged in 7 hours. The fast charging terminal increases the range of the hatchback by 161 km and the SUV by 153 km in half an hour.
Price
Sales of the two models Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV will start this summer on the US market. After the redesign, the Chevrolet Bolt EV hatchback has dropped in price by €5,000 (Euro) and now costs at least €31,995 (Euro). Its counterpart with the prefix EUV (stands for Electric Utility Vehicle) is offered at a price of €33,995 (Euro).
