Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Although it competes with purebred sports cars from Ferrari , Lamborghini and Porsche , the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is one of the flagship electric supercars.

Now, this new E-Ray features a hybrid powertrain that promises to boost performance even further with the help of electrons. Additionally, the E-Ray has a stealth driving mode that allows you to drive in and out of your neighborhood silently, using electricity without waking up your neighbors.

What’s new ?

The E-Ray is a new addition for Chevrolet this year, and its hybrid powertrain marks the first time electrification has been added to the Corvette lineup. The Corvette E-Ray wears the same wide-body kit and front-end treatment as the high-performance Z06 model, in addition to its beefy 655-hp hybrid powertrain . It’s also the first Vette with all-wheel drive; an electric motor powers the front wheels. The E-Ray will arrive in Chevy dealerships in late as a model.

Like the regular Corvette, the Corvette E-Ray is available as either a coupe or a convertible with a folding hardtop. Since the coupe’s targa roof stands out for open-top driving anyway, we’d stick with that. The E-Ray is expected to be offered in 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ trim levels with similar equipment to the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT versions of the Corvette Stingray, but Chevrolet hasn’t released those details yet. If we’re correct, we recommend upgrading to the 2LZ version, which is expected to add features like a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

Engine, transmission and performance

Corvette’s first-ever hybrid powertrain consists of a 6.2-liter V8 borrowed from the Corvette Stingray that makes 495 horsepower and drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 160-horsepower electric motor sits on the front axle and drives those wheels, creating an all-wheel drive system with a combined output of 655 horsepower. A small 1.9-kWh battery pack allows the Corvette E-Ray to run on electricity for short distances at up to 45 mph in a driving mode Chevy calls Stealth Mode. With both the electric motor and V-8 running at full speed, Chevy says the Corvette E-Ray is capable of hitting 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. That’s faster than the 670-hp rear-drive Corvette Z06 coupe, which hit 60 mph in 2.6 seconds in our testing. Chevrolet is touting the winter weather benefits of all-wheel drive and reinforcing that idea by making high-performance all-season tires standard on the E-Ray. Summer rubber will be an option.

Interior, comfort and cargo

While the Corvette E-Ray brings a few powertrain firsts to the nameplate, the interior of the car is no different from the Stingray or Z06 models. It’s a pure two-seater and can be fitted with materials like leather, faux suede and real metal trim.

The roof is removable on the coupe, as on previous Corvettes, and can be stored in the trunk just behind the engine compartment. The rear trunk can also hold two golf bags, while the smaller front trunk can accommodate some luggage or cargo when the roof is stowed.

The driver sits behind a squared-off steering wheel that for some reason doesn’t feel weird, looking at a reconfigurable 12.0-inch gauge cluster; a large infotainment touchscreen is angled toward the driver for easy operation. The interior design takes the driver-focused concept to the extreme, dividing the cockpit with a tall bulkhead that houses a bank of switches for the car’s climate control system.

Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Price and Competitors

With an MSRP of $102,900 for the base 1LZ without a $1,395 destination charge, the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is priced just under the $105,300 for the base Z06. This will pose an interesting conundrum for Corvette fans shopping at that price, as the debate will rage over whether the flat-plane crank V8 makes the Z06 a better sports car than the multifaceted E-Ray. The 2LZ starts at $108,400 and the 3LZ starts at $113,850.

Porsche doesn’t yet sell an electrified 911, but the E-Ray’s performance exceeds that of the more expensive base Carrera. The hybrid McLaren Artura produces almost exactly the same power, but like many other hardcore supercars, it will cost far more than the Corvette. At that price, there’s no competition that offers the Corvette E-Ray’s blend of exotic styling, strong hybrid powertrain, and stunning performance.
