Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The high-performance coupe, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, is scheduled to be launched in . There were many talks about this model, and one of them was that the ZR1 version would never happen. In May 2016, General Motors registered the ZR1 brand name, which by itself does not mean anything. A little later, the spy photos surfaced and showed us the new Corvette ZR1 version going through the preparations.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The current seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette model was released in 2013. It replaced the previous C6 and was presented as a completely retooled C7 model with a more angular design, a revised interior with a near-luxury setup and an updated version of the powertrain. It also spawned the all-new LT1, which replaced the LS3, the Z06 and the R version, and it even came with a Grand Sport version, followed by several limited edition models. But no ZR1 in sight.

Back then, we all thought that this version would never appear. But not all hopes were lost as the images of a mid-engine Corvette surfaced and caught our attention. The release date is speculated and our review will reveal all the currently known facts about the car and help you gain more insight into the long-awaited Chevy Corvette ZR1 model.

When can we expect the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 release date?

The newly named Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is expected to be launched in . Although this information is kept under wraps, there is no doubt that the car is prepared for a release by then. There are many clues that give us such a possibility, and they probably can’t afford to wait any longer either.

Possible price for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The potential price of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is not yet available, but since this is the fastest and most powerful of all the C7 models, it will likely be the most expensive. Although we estimate it to be priced around €120,000 (Euros), it is still very affordable compared to some other models in the same performance region.

Exterior details

The prototype version of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 includes some changes for the new rendering. It has new and larger vents on each corner of the front fascia. There is a massive splitter underneath and the hood bulge is also much larger. This all makes us believe that they are preparing for something special under the hood as well.

The Declkid in the rear has a large wing that only the race-spec Corvette models have. The previous ZR1 didn’t have this part, instead using a spoiler, but the larger wing not only means their car is evolving, but it will likely pack more power underneath. There are also rumors that Chevy will offer an aerodynamic package for this version, giving more options for people who want an affordable, street-friendly or a track-based version.

What was done inside?

We have less information about the interior of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 than we do about the exterior. Images of the interior are scarce, and we don’t really know what they might do. However, we do know that they aren’t planning a drastically different design than the base Vette model. The cabin will primarily be heavily based on the C7 design, but influenced by the Z06 model. The majority of the upgrades will likely be carried over from the Z06 model, with carbon fiber trim and new upholstery options added to the mix. We also expect to get a new instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Drivetrain option

The current rumor is that the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will use the power of a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, dubbed the LT5. This type of engine is also expected to be used in the upcoming Chevrolet Zora model. The power figures have not been confirmed yet, but considering that the current Z06 makes 650 hp and the last ZR1 made 638 hp, we can safely say that the ZR1 is aiming for a power output of around 700 hp.

Potential 0-62 mph. Specifications

If the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with 638 hp manages to successfully use the power of the LT5 engine, we expect that the acceleration will also be great. The possible acceleration from 0 to 100 km per hour is estimated at 2.8 seconds, while the top speed can be 205 mph.

Expectations regarding fuel consumption

Since both the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and the Zora model are still in the pipeline, no statistics have been released for the car’s fuel consumption. Both use the same type of engine, so we can say that the differences between them will be small in terms of fuel consumption, but nothing has been said about how good the car might be. The most we can hope for is some information, which is expected to be released early next year when production moves to the next phase.

Dimension details

The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will share dimensions with its base version. The base Corvette model will not be significantly modified to allow the ZR1 to be produced, so all the numbers given here can now be transferred to the ZR1 model. The length is 177.9 inches with a wheelbase of 106.7 inches. The height is 48.6 inches while the width is 77.4 inches. Passenger volume is currently 52 cu ft and cargo space is 15 cu ft, so there is a good chance that this will not be changed either.

Security features

No real news has been released for the safety additions of the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Since it is still in the development phase, the last thing to be considered and announced here are the specifications related to safety. However, this is by no means an unimportant aspect of the car. Chevy has always valued the safety of its passengers and users so they do the same here. We predict a similar type of package to the other racer-inspired Chevrolet models and these details could also be used for the future Zora model.

Competing cars

The competition for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is pretty simple. There aren’t many cars that can match the stats and luxury of the new Corvette ZR1. But it’s the McLaren 650S that is perhaps the most worthy opponent in every respect. Models that can compete in performance include the Ferrari 488 GTB and the Porsche 911 Turbo .
