Chevrolet Impala

The newer design of Impala vehicles was actually submitted by a style change that included more beautiful lines for a large car, very good driving abilities, onboard connectivity, comfort and basically everything that the previous vehicle was not. These changes are what actually made this car what it is and what brought it to the standard that we now perceive.

The Chevrolet Impala will follow the recent design changes and make updates based on them. We are facing a very good looking car if we are to believe the images and if they manage to integrate all the parts of the previous one, it will also offer a good ride.

The release date is coming up much sooner than expected, so there is the issue of review that we need to address now.

When is the Chevrolet Impala scheduled to be released?

We can expect the latest updated version of the Chevrolet Impala in the market by the end of the year. Chevy will surely make this model available much earlier, which will also bring us closer to the release date. So we will get it by the end of .

What is the price of the car?

Prices for the Chevrolet Impala model may not change. They will closely match the current price range of Impala models. The starting price is $27,500 for the LS version, while the LT costs $29,765. The Premier is the top trim and costs $35,845.

What is the external style?

The new Chevrolet Impala will resemble the model that adopted the new changes with the last redesign. The model was renovated in 2014 when the old, boring look was discarded and a more chiseled and muscular one was adopted. This made the car not look as busy as you would perceive it to be and also made it a cut above its class based on styling.

The new Impala takes advantage of the great sheet metal and adopts a design that continues the current one. There aren’t many changes that would create a completely different styling, just a few refreshing new liens here and there. The grille is updated somewhat and so are the headlights, with the side and rear of the car remaining almost intact. Even with the new stampings in the hood, the car is as exciting as it could be and feels really great.

Interior design and updating

As we have seen, the interior of the Chevrolet Impala looks a bit hyperactive. This is the kind of design that was brought to us from the previous edition of the model. It actually looked too busy, but they decided to keep it. Two or three trim levels are used, making things too busy than they need to be. The shapes cut into each other, creating a mess that is not easy to get out of. Even the redesign does not restrict the interior that much and we have a very busy interior. At least it is comfortable.

The Impala is a big car and it shows on the inside. It offers plenty of space and doesn’t suffer from a claustrophobic interior that many of its competitors have like the premium four-doors. Although the car is designed to hold four people inside, it seats five. The legroom is also quite large and gives us the opportunity to have a great ride. The materials have also been updated a bit so you can expect some new trimmings inside.

Drivetrain selection

The road manners of the Chevrolet Impala are said to be exceptional and this is all due to the type of powertrain used. There will be a few engine options with the 2.5-liter inline-4 engine being the base option. It helps the car gain 196 horsepower and is paired with a 6-speed automatic for that kind of power. The second option is a 6-cylinder 3.6-liter V6 engine which is enough to give the Impala a power of 305 horsepower and improve the acceleration of the vehicle. This will also come with a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.

0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed

The acceleration of the Chevrolet Impala will be quite decent, depending on the type of engines used. The base version can accelerate to 0-100 km per hour in 8.7 seconds, while the more powerful and faster 6-cyldiner does it in 6.8 seconds. The top speed is the same for both and is 132 mph.

What is the fuel economy for the Chevrolet Impala?

Fuel economy for the Chevrolet Impala is pretty decent, even though it’s a large sedan car. It doesn’t suffer the penalties that those cars do, but it’s still not the class leader. The four-cylinder Impala is capable of 22 mpg city, 30 highway, and 25 combined for its EPA rating, while 6 cylinders can do 19/28/22 mpg or 18/28/22 mpg.

Dimensions of the car

The Chevrolet Impala is a big car and luckily they didn’t decide to make it bigger. The model has maintained its shape and size for the refresh and we believe it won’t even get bigger even when the next generation models arrive. This car is big enough in our opinion and should stay that way as it is quite balanced. The overall length is 201.3 inches, the wheelbase is 111.7 inches, the height is 58.9 inches, the width is 73.0 inches, which also translates to a curb weight of 3700 pounds.

Safety ratings and features

We can say that the Chevrolet Impala will inherit some favorable crash test results. The previous model got five stars overall, but some of the tests were incomplete, and we feel that new ones need to be provided for the upcoming model. There are also some equipment that the model lacked and that it could well add. Standard parts of the Impala will be 10 airbags and GM’s OnStar system, but you only get Bluetooth and a rearview camera in the base version of the car. Outward visibility is pretty solid and allows the driver to move around fairly easily. Some advanced equipment includes blind-spot monitors; a lane departure warning system; adaptive cruise control; and a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking.

Competing models

The major auto industry will welcome the Chevrolet Impala with open arms. Although there are already many models in this segment, it is always good to have one as an Impala car. But still other competitor vehicles are rising and there are other cars to consider here. Some alternatives are the Buick LaCrosse, the Ford Taurus , the Nissan Maxima and the Toyota Avalon .
