What is the price for the truck?
The new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stays pretty close to the price it has now. The base model is offered at an MSRP of $28,290 for a single cab with standard bed configuration, while the Silverado crew cab with 4WD and High Country trim is the most expensive configuration you can get and is available for $54,510. What are the external changes?
The biggest difference for the Chevrolet Silverado 1500’s exterior design is more angular curves. The grille and bumper design for the previous models used straight lines. Now, when it gets a curved lower line and curved grille inserts, it looks much more aggressive. Also, HID premium headlights are added for the lower-spec WT and LT trims, while the LTZ, LTZ/Z71 and High County trim levels get the LEDs. The LTZ and above trim levels get LED exterior lighting and all levels get LED daytime running lights.
The base WT trim adds a black plastic grille and black bumper. The LT version comes with chrome detailing and very large chrome wheels. The LTZ offers fuller LED headlights, turn signals, fog lights and tail lights. This is also included on the High Country, but it also adds custom chrome grille inserts. The most distinctive trim is the LTZ with the Z71 package, which looks monochromatic.

The interior of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 only gets a software refresh and that’s it. But despite these scant changes, we’re glad they’re finally arriving. A software refresh was something we expected a long time ago, so the model will add Apple CarPlay for its mid- and higher trim levels. The flat cargo floor behind the first row of seats is still available and the rear seat can be raised to create more storage space inside. Other additions include storage places for your belongings, cup holders, USB ports and 12-volt outlets. This time there’s even a 110-volt AC outlet.
Drivetrain Choice
With the refresh, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 only updates the engine with only a new transmission system being added. The car will continue to use the base 4.3-liter V-6, mid-range 5.3-liter V-8, and top-of-the-range 6.2-liter V-8.
All specified engines are combined with EcoTec3 technologies, equipped with direct injection, variable valve timing and active fuel management. The standard transmission specified here is the six-speed automatic transmission, while additionally and optionally a new eight-speed automatic transmission is provided. Depending on the configuration, the power ranges from 285 hp and 305 LB-FT to the most powerful 380 hp and 416 LB-FT.

The acceleration capability of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does not change in this model. It is still kept at around 8 seconds to reach 0-60 mph, while the top speed is still limited to 115 mph.
Fuel consumption values
Depending on the engine type, the fuel economy of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 varies. The V-6 version has 18 MPG city and 24 MPG highway for the 2WD version and 17 MPG and 22 MPG for the 4WD. The V-8 engine can consume 16 mpg city and 23 mpg high and 2WD, while in the 4WD it makes 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.
Dimensions of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The dimensions for the updated Chevrolet Silverado 1500 remain the same. It is always unnecessary for an updated version to change the size and they stick with the old numbers here. Thus, the car measures a length of 230 inches with a wheelbase of 143.5 cm. The width is 80 inches while the height is 73.9 inches for both 2WD and 4WD versions. The track is 68.9 inches at the front and 67.9 inches at the rear for both versions as well.
Security features
The new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will not lose its perfect crash test results. The current version has a five-star rating from the NHTSA agency and an overall rating of “Good” from the IIHS, and it is planned to be maintained for the upcoming model. Since all safety-related parts have remained unchanged, the results are simply transferred here and we are left with a completely safe car. The additional electronic safety systems on the Silverado 1500 now include forward collision alert, lane departure warning and Intellibeam high beam assist.
