Chevrolet Silverado 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
When the Chevrolet Silverado was announced, people immediately knew what they were getting. The model is a pretty straightforward truck, it looks very good, and it can perform well in a variety of conditions and circumstances. It is probably one of the most popular options when it comes to full-size trucks on the market.
Chevrolet Silverado
The updated version of the Silverado has been announced, but don’t expect many changes. It will carry over almost unchanged from the previous line. Almost all the details are similar and there are only a few things that have been changed. It still starts as an LT model and goes up to the LS. The customizable LT, LTX and High Country options are also available, but at a much higher price.
The images we first got made us wonder if this was really an updated version of the Chevy Silverado, mainly because of the similarities with the previous one. However, we quickly realized that they decided to tone down the changes. The model is not that old and the features are already good enough, so there was absolutely no need to go deep into the details. The release date has been set. This is our review to familiarize you with this model.
Publication date
The release date for the upcoming updated Chevrolet Silverado is set for the end of . Although this model will be offered as a version, its release is still being prepared for the coming year, when we will see the car in action for the first time.
Price
The price list for the upcoming fleet of Chevrolet Silverado vehicles will be the same as before. The starting price for the base version is €27,585 (Euro) as the MSRP base price, and the highest priced car is the High Country, which is offered at €54,952 (Euro).
Exterior styling
The exterior design of the Chevrolet Silverado is very familiar. The front end is still large and blunt, a design originally adopted from the larger, high-performance Chevy models. The truck has a sort of big-rig design that makes it stand out in the pickup segment. Completing the aggressive look are high shoulders and a squared-off appearance with the matching wheel arch design.
Although the model looks very boxy and has a brick-like styling, you would never guess that the car can be very aerodynamic for its shape. However, this car has managed to introduce some active grille shutters that smooth the air transfer and regulate the airflow through the car so that fuel efficiency can also be maximized.
Interior fittings
The interior of the Chevrolet Silverado is simple but looks refreshing as the layout doesn’t overcomplicate things. They decided not to overcomplicate things inside and the car-like appearance was scraped off for a more traditional truck-like approach. The instrument panel is upright and also simplified. While there is a control panel just to the left of the steering wheel for easy reaching, the dashboard doesn’t get too cluttered with overwhelming controls. All buttons and knobs are conveniently sized so you can easily operate them even with gloved hands.
Powertrain performance
The same story goes under the hood of the Chevrolet Silverado. The three engine options and two transmission choices from the last model remain. Base trucks use a 4.3-liter V6 engine, which is available in both V6 and V8 versions. It makes 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque and can also tow a load of 4,700 pounds. The most popular engine choice is the 5.3-liter V8 engine, which can tow 11,500 pounds in addition to 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices fall on a 6-speed automatic or an 8-speed automatic.
0-62 mph per hour acceleration capability
The acceleration of the Chevrolet Silverado can still be considered very good. The model can accelerate to 0-62 mph per hour in 7.2 seconds, a value that remains unchanged compared to the last version. It will also be able to provide us with a maximum speed of 99 miles per hour as governor limited.
Fuel consumption specifications
The new Chevrolet Silverado will also carry over the fuel economy specifications to the new version. This actually makes it capable of dispensing the amount of fuel which is quite decent for the segment. The Silverado has always been considered a model that offers very good fuel economy rates compared to other pickups presented in this segment.
The 5.3-liter V-8 engine version also has an EPA rating of 16 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined with the 6-speed automatic, while the 4WD models are tagged at 16/22/18 mpg. Folks using the 6.2-liter V-8 have a score of 15/20/17 mpg with 4WD, while the V-6 version gives us 18/24/20 mpg.
What are the dimensions of the new Chevrolet Silverado?
The dimensions of the Chevrolet Silverado also remain the same. For now, no growth was required, and the only applicable changes in the size of the car are saved for another period. The size improvements are expected to be implemented for the next-generation models. For now, the length remains at 205.5-239.5 inches, the wheelbase is 119.0-153.0 inches, the height is 73.5-74.0 inches, while the width is 80.0 inches. The scores change depending on whether you use the Silverado 1500, 2500 or 3500 versions. For this reason, the curb weight is also between 4500 and 5300 pounds.
Safety ratings and specifications
The previous model has very good safety scores, so these will also be carried over to the Chevrolet Silverado version. The previous car added some evolutionary parts and made the scores even higher and better. But the new one will inherit the equipment that made it so great. Federal testing gave it a 5-star overall rating for the Silverado, while the IIHS gave it an overall rating of “good.” The new model will get the same specs that include stability control systems and trailer sway control as standard equipment, followed by a range of airbags including dual-stage front and side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. Advanced safety equipment includes active lane control, forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, automatic headlights, front and rear parking sensors,
What are the competing cars?
The vehicles that will closely follow the Chevrolet Silverado are numerous but also have their case to make in this segment. The models will give us their own attitude and some will have advantages in certain parts while others will not. This actually makes this a very interesting segment so potential customers like the Ford F-150, the GMC Sierra, the Nissan Titan and the Toyota Tundra are some of the best models to buy in this segment.
