Chevrolet Silverado EV 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Although it shares its electric powertrain with the cheeky GMC Hummer EV , the Chevrolet Silverado EV should resemble a more classic version of an electric pickup truck. A large battery pack is expected to provide up to 400 miles of range per charge. Like the Hummer models, the Silverado EV is expected to be available with up to three electric motors, depending on the trim level; all-wheel drive will likely be standard.

Silverado EV

Chevrolet hasn’t released full specs and information about the pickup, but has said it will build it in Michigan at the same plant that will build the Hummers. When it goes on sale, the Silverado EV will face stiff competition from the Ford F-150 Electric , as well as up-and-coming offerings like the Rivian R1T and Tesla Cybertruck .

What’s new ?

The Silverado EV will be new to the Chevrolet lineup and is expected to debut as a model and go on sale in early .
Chevrolet hasn’t released pricing or trim levels for the Silverado EV yet, but it has said it will offer a stripped-down version for fleet buyers that should have a low starting price. The gasoline-powered Silverado follows a similar formula with its low-cost work truck and mid-range LT trims. We also expect higher-priced luxury consumer models like the LTZ and High Country that offer more creature comforts and possibly trick features of the Hummer EV but obviously command a higher price.

Engine, transmission and performance

Given that the Silverado EV will share a platform and assembly line with the Hummer EV, it’s very likely that the two will also share a powertrain. That would mean one, two, or three electric motors, depending on the trim, with combined horsepower numbers of up to 1,000 hp. All-wheel drive should be standard, but Chevrolet hasn’t released full specs yet.

Range, charging and battery life

The Silverado EV will utilize General Motor’s novel Ultium battery technology, which can be scaled to a battery pack of up to 200 kWh. Chevrolet claims this will give the Silverado EV a range of up to 400 miles per charge. Obviously, real-world range will vary, especially when towing, a task many pickup truck buyers expect the Silverado EV to accomplish with relative ease.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Price

Electric vehicles are typically sold at a premium over their internal combustion engine counterparts, but since the Silverado electric strategy includes work and fleet trucks, the price will need to be lower than the GMC Hummer EV pickup’s starting price of $79,995. We imagine Ford’s starting price of $41,669 for the F-150 Lightning will be a good target.
