Chevrolet Spark EV 2025: price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The refresh announced with the Chevrolet Spark EV won’t get people as excited as what it envisions for the future. This car will be an electric version of the base Spark model, which was recently updated.

Chevrolet Spark EV

They immediately saw it appropriate to do the same with their EV version and provide similar and appropriate updates for their electric car. But Chevy is preparing for something new for their brand. This car will just be an introduction for things to come as they are planning to launch a completely new electric vehicle. But they are keeping most things quiet about it while the potential future model is being developed. Until then, we have to deal with the Chevrolet Spark EV so we can check that out first.

The base Spark model began its career in 1998 and was originally known as the Daewoo Matiz. But when GM stepped in and overtook the brand, the name was changed to the current name. Since 2005, this car has been called the Chevrolet Spark or Chevrolet Matiz, depending on which market the vehicle was released in. The brand went on sale for the first time in 2013 and with it came the Chevrolet Spark EV version, which excited more people than the base car.

The Chevy Spark is currently in its third generation, which entered production in 2010. The EV version managed to fix many of the issues that were wrong with the basic shape of the car. People saw it as fitting that this car was offered, as the base didn’t really have any suitable competition. But with the introduction of the EV, it gave the car a completely different sphere. The car sold quickly, and it was its balanced design, sharp steering, and clever packaging that drew all the attention to the Spark EV.

With the base version refreshed, the Chevrolet Spark EV will also receive similar updates. It will mainly carry over the parts that were changed for the base version and adopt its own elements that are required for an electric car. This is something that people will be happy about, but it will not be as big news as what everyone is expecting. The launch of an all-new electric Chevy car will probably get more people excited. But the EV will do its best to set the stage for this one. With the release date coming soon, let’s take a look at the Chevrolet Spark EV that has to offer us.

When is the Chevrolet Spark EV release date?

The Chevrolet Spark EV coming out in prediction says that it will come out this year. The base model made its debut last year, so it won’t be long before the electric version of the car is released. The last model came within a year of the base version being released, so we expect it to happen in the same way. Therefore, the release date will probably be sometime in late . The release date in the Europe will probably be at the same time that the car will be released in all markets at the same time. As for the future electric car that Chevy will reportedly produce, it will probably drop sometime in . But that model hasn’t been talked about so much now, as there is almost no information about it.

What are the prices of the Chevrolet Spark EV

The base price of the new Chevrolet Spark EV will be similar to the current one. The outgoing Spark EV will be offered for a base MSRP of $27,495. The new one probably won’t be that much higher compared to the current price and will still make the vehicle competitive for the market. Although the base model is one of the most affordable vehicles in its class, the EV more than doubles the price. However, the benefits of an electric vehicle are much greater when you compare them to what the base version of the car can do for you. Fuel economy is of course the most important benefit here and the reason why prices are so greatly inflated compared to the

The styling of the Chevrolet Spark EV

The latest Chevrolet Spark EV looks exactly like the base non-electric version. This car is made based on the Beat concept that was introduced some time ago. The model actually plays tricks on you as you have to look closer to realize that it is not a three-door hatchback. The C-pillars actually hide the rear door handles. So the design looks like a three-door hatch car in some ways but offers the practicality of a five-door hatch.

The updates that the model has received are not as numerous as you would expect. It is basically the same type of car with the usual styling, with some additional equipment that has been placed to make the car more relevant. So, new are the standard halogen lamps and daytime running lights. The side mirrors have been prepared as they are now equipped with heating, have integrated indicators and are offered in the same body color as the entire car.

The front section features a new sporty front fascia and some changes for the rear fascia as well. Additions include rocker panel moldings, while the tailgate handle trim and beltline add chrome accents. Additionally, there are a number of colors you can opt for, including Lime and Grape Ice, Black Granite, Salsa and Denim, Summit White and Silver Ice.

The interior update for the Chevrolet Spark EV

The interior of the Chevrolet Spark EV will also copy the same one seen in the base model of the car. The way they are approaching this is by providing a much more extensive refresh for the interior than they did for the exterior of the car. All in all, it is still not as dramatic as expected, but it will keep the model fresher and more appealing for a period of time. There is a new instrument panel that comes with a motorcycle-like instrument cluster, while the center console has been made to provide maximum storage capacity and allow the driver a good view when using the equipment.

There will also be some new decorative inserts for the instrument panel and front doors. While this part appeals to and helps with the aesthetics of the vehicle, the ice blue ambient lighting adds to the atmosphere of the car and gives the interior a cool look. Additional and optional offerings include heated leatherette seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are also interior colors you can choose from: silver, white, green and blue.

The most important thing is still the drive train

The Chevrolet Spark EV simply carries over the powertrain as it has served it well for now. Any changes that people think will be further developed will likely be introduced with the other Chevy car, but for the Spark EV, this is all it has to offer. Thus, the model will get a permanent magnet coaxial electric motor that uses a 21 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It will create a total output of 105 kW, which is equivalent to 140 hp, but the impressive thing is still the 400 lb-ft of torque. You may not be able to see this when you look at the car, but once you drive it, you will realize where all that torque is coming from. It will also use a 1-speed direct drive, which is standard for this type of car. It will also be able to produce a range of 82 miles,

0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed

The Chevrolet Spark EV will have a pretty good acceleration capability. It may be surprising to say, but the car will be able to do 0-62 mph in 8 seconds and will also have a top speed of 90 mph. Compared to the base version, which does 100 km/h in about 11 ticks per second, the EV is a much better car.

Fuel consumption figures for the Chevrolet Spark EV

The Chevrolet Spark EV’s fuel economy is still good, making it one of the best in the segment. Other models may have started developing their more powerful setups and are thinking about improving fuel economy here. However, the all-electric Spark EV is rated at 119 mpge for a combined rating, making it one of the better and more desirable models on the market. But other cars have come along, so it’s hard to say if that’s enough to keep the car afloat for an extended period of time.

Unchanged dimensions for the Chevrolet Spark EV

The size of the updated Chevrolet Spark EV will not change at all. They will keep the model standard at what we already have. In general, the size will also be the same as the base version, as the powertrain is the only real difference between these two vehicles. Despite this, some models have much more differences than just the basic ones that make up the car. The latest version of the Spark EV will be 144.7 inches long and have a wheelbase of 93.5 inches. The height will be 61 inches and the width will be 62.9 inches. The model will also allow the same interior numbers with a cargo volume of 11.4 cu-ft. The interior space is a bit different from the base version, but a big advantage of the Spark EV is that it manages to pack the battery as hidden as possible so as not to interfere with the interior.

Safety accessories and equipment

As for the safety equipment on the Chevrolet Spark EV, it’s pretty much standard. It seems they decided against heavily updating the lineup and just carried over what the car had up until now. The car has earned top safety picks in the past and holds a mark against even the toughest and most competitive models on the market, but could have added a little more to make the model more competitive and just expand the lineup a little. Standard equipment offered here includes dual front, front and side airbags, while there are airbags and knee airbags in the rear. More advanced equipment was expected, but since the car already has pretty decent numbers, they thought it would be better to hold off on those.

Other competing cars

If we compare the latest Chevrolet Spark EV with its competition, it has a lot of advantages for some of the rival cars. One of the things is obviously the range and when it comes to electric cars, it is something that people pay the most attention to. The Spark EV has the potential to drive an electric motor alone, much more than cars like Mitsubishi i-MIEV or the Ford Focus EV. But the Nissan Leaf is the ultimate vehicle when it comes to range in this segment. For other competitors like the Volkswagen e-Golf or the Kia Soul EV and even the Fiat 500e , which have a larger battery and have advanced their technology recently, the Spark may not be as competitive as one might think. This is perhaps the reason why Chevy is planning a completely new car and will launch it. All in all,
