The new generation of the legendary SUV has just arrived and fans are already speculating about the possible novelties for the second year of production. While there most likely won’t be too many of them, there are sources that reveal some pretty interesting ones.

suggest things, especially regarding the high-performance version that would fall under the legendary “SS” badge. At this point, officials are still quiet on the matter. So the Chevrolet Suburban seems to be more of a typical carryover, with just a few minor updates.

This means we’ll see a familiar, recently introduced layout that has brought many improvements over the previous generation. The Suburban is arguably the best choice for those who need three adult-friendly rows of seats and an impressive amount of cargo space. Additionally, you can count on a true SUV platform, powerful and capable engines, and a fairly long list of standard and available features. We expect to see the Chevrolet Suburban sometime in the last quarter of the year.

Chevrolet Suburban redesign

Since we’re talking about this arriving just a few months ago, it’s hard to believe that Chevy will offer a larger number of updates for the second year of production. Therefore, the Chevrolet Suburban will most likely continue in the same manner with the same design and most of the features. The recent redesign has brought a new platform that makes this SUV lighter, more efficient and easier to drive. In addition, there is an all-new design that follows the path set by Silverado in terms of design language. The best we could see for next year are things like new color options SUV.

However, there are sources speculating about the possible high-performance version. This model would carry the legendary “SS” badge and it would come with upgrades of various kinds. We would see chassis improvements, new suspension, more powerful engine and design improvements that follow the performance-oriented personality of the model.

Inner

Again, we don’t expect any major changes. Unlike Silverado, the new Suburban has been completely redesigned and looks really good in that regard. The dashboard uses high-quality materials, a more attractive aesthetic and many new tech features, so it’s really difficult to find a specific complaint about it.

Furthermore, the interior is impressive. The first and second rows offer well over 40 inches of legroom (44.5 and 42 respectively), while the third is also impressive. Even more impressive is the cargo volume, where the Chevy Suburban will continue to be an absolute class leader along with its mechanical sibling, the GMC Yukon XL. You can count on about 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 93.8 cubic feet with the seats folded down, and 144.7 cubic feet of total cargo space.

Characteristics

Again, don’t expect any major changes here, not only because this is the second year of production, but also because the current model already feels pretty impressive in that regard. It already comes standard with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, eight USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, HD Radio, satellite radio, six speakers, a household power outlet, keyless entry, tri-zone climate control, and more.

The options list is equally impressive. You can get a sunroof, extendable side steps, a navigation system, nine- and ten-speaker stereos, wireless device charging, a rear seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touchscreens, etc. Some of these could become standard in the Suburban, but most things should stay the same.

Chevrolet Suburban Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change and the Chevrolet Suburban will continue in three familiar variants when it comes to the powertrain. Base models will continue with a familiar 5.3-liter V8 that’s good for around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, which is more than enough to move this massive SUV with ease. If you need something more powerful, there’s a larger 6.2-liter V8 that makes around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, there is a diesel version equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 unit that delivers around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All three engines
