Chrysler Aspen 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The Chrysler Aspen is becoming more realistic. It’s been ten years since FCA killed off the only SUV with the Chrysler badge. However, some vehicles from this automaker are still on the market. The Pacifica minivan is definitely competitive, and FCA could bring back Aspen based on this model and some Jeep SUVs. Another reason we believe in the return is big changes at the company.

FCA has two midsize models that compete with each other – Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The other one is getting a new platform – body on frame. It will move its production to another plant, leaving more space for Jeep SUVs. On the other hand, the Warren truck plant needs to be expanded to increase capacity.
The Chrysler Aspen could use this to return to the stage. In its previous time, it was a BoF truck-based SUV. Don’t be surprised if the automaker uses the Dodge Aspen nameplate. Again, this isn’t the first time we’ve had this combination since the car appeared in the late ’70s.
Truck-based SUV
FCA had big plans for Aspen. The SUV market started growing and automakers started building more of these vehicles. Anyway, the crisis hit the automotive market and many models were discontinued. Aspen was one of the first. However, it left the mark as one of the first truck-based SUVs. Aspen drew attention with its capabilities and versatility. Now this segment dominates the market, but buyers are not so keen on big rigs. There are not too many BoF models available. The Toyota 4Runner is definitely the toughest, and the new Ford Bronco could take the position in the same class.
Will the Chrysler Aspen return in ?
That’s the big question. FCA is a big automaker and most of its divisions are complete. We have all kinds of vehicles, from subcompact crossovers to large SUVs. The new Jeep Grand Wagoneer should take the spot in the full-size class. So there’s not too much room left for Chrysler Aspen . The chances of seeing it again are slim, but they still exist. By moving Durango to the frame architecture, the automaker is only rehashing those stories.
So where could Aspen fit? The midsize segment is crowded, with Grand Cherokee leading the segment. It even brought Durango to the new concept. However, there are inquiries about the Chrysler Aspen, and two models could be sort of twins, like Chevy and GMC models. This will make development easier for FCA, as these SUVs would share engines.

Well, Aspen used to be a Dodge, and we believe the new SUV will get the SRT edition with a 6.4-liter Hemi engine under the hood. According to sources, the company plans to increase the power of this V8 unit. The new version will produce 500 horsepower. There are also cosmetic improvements for a more attractive appearance.
But that’s not all. The top-of-the-range model could get the most powerful engine in the family. The Chrysler Aspen Trackhawk Edition should use a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, better known as the Hellcat. This mill produces 707 hp and is currently found under the hood of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, this is not guaranteed, as the flagship Ram 1500 is still waiting to get it and launch the Rebel TRX version. The good thing is that the SUV class already uses the Hellcat engine and engineers can adapt it to Aspen without much trouble.
When will Chrysler Aspen be available?
Even if the company decides to relaunch the Chrysler Aspen in , it won’t happen anytime soon. Priorities are definitely the new truck-based Durango, a three-row Grand Cherokee and the full-size Grand Wagoneer . Aspen will have to build its reputation from scratch, and it will be very hard with such a competitor within the family. If you broaden the view to other automakers, it’s still questionable whether FCA really needs the new SUV.
