The French premium brand DS has prepared a full-size Citroen DS 9 sedan for the Geneva Motor Show in . The Nine is to be the brand’s first global four-door car and will be sold in China and Europe.

The exterior design of the new Citroen DS 9 is inspired by the DS 7 Crossback. The sedan received a large grille with a fine mesh pattern, narrow LED headlights with multiple operating modes, as well as vertical “fangs” of the running lights.
Design and interior
In profile, the car resembles the Chinese sedan Peugeot 508L. There is a similar glass line and noticeable embossing on the sidewalls. In addition, the novelty has retractable door handles and additional parking lights on the rear roof pillars. In addition, the new DS 9 is abundantly decorated with chrome – the corresponding inserts emphasize the headlights and lanterns, and the hood is completely conditionally divided into two halves by a striking vertical line. The interior of the model is also in many ways similar to the DS 3 Crossback , while the French used exclusively expensive leather for decoration.
There are several trim options to choose from, named after the famous Parisian districts: Bastille, Opera and Rivoli. The “Performance Line” version stands out, with its interior characterized by Alcantara trim and sporty decor. Among other features, the four-door model presents the presence of a virtual instrument cluster and a 12.0-inch display of the multimedia system, from which most of the car’s secondary functions (including climate control) are controlled.
Interestingly, the French placed the engine start button between the central ventilation deflectors, with the BRM chronometer above it. Other interior features include rear seats with heating, ventilation and massage, while the premium Focal Electra audio system with 14 speakers is offered at an additional cost.
Technical characteristics
The new DS 9 model is built on the EMP2 modular platform with a transverse engine. The sedan reaches a length of 4,930 mm, its wheelbase is 2,895, width – 1,850, height – 1,468. The basis of the car is a 1.6-liter Puretech turbo engine with 225 hp, paired with an eight-band automatic. More expensive versions are rechargeable hybrids and have the E-Tense prefix in the name. They are equipped with the same internal combustion engine, while the first hybrid is based on an electric motor. Integrated into the automatic transmission, it develops 110 hp. (320 Nm), while the total power of the power plant reaches 225 forces, and the traction battery with a capacity of 11.9 kWh should be enough for 40-50 km of travel on electric power. Over time, a 250 hp variant of the DS 9 E-Tense will come onto the market, as well as an all-wheel drive hybrid with an additional electric motor on the rear axle. The peak power of its engines is specified at around 360 hp.
