Citroen DS4 EVs 2025: Electrification and transition to the Stellantis platform
In 2019, DS was the first Groupe PSA brand to launch an electric vehicle with the Citroen DS4 EVs in . Now, under new parent company Stellantis, the company plans to transition to a pure electric vehicle brand.
SUV Citroen DS4 EVs
Following an EV version of the recently launched DS 4 (a conversion of the EMP2), DS will unveil a new design and launch the first STLA Medium Platform EV, its first dedicated electric vehicle, in . The company promises remarkable technology and sophistication and a range of 700 km (435 miles) with a 104 kWh battery for this special electric vehicle.

The company expects a range of up to 700 or 440 miles on the WLTP cycle. Of course, the low-rider models like sedans, coupes or hatchbacks would deliver the highest possible range. But from the electric SUV models like the Peugeot 3008 and DS 7 Crossback, expect over 550 km (342 miles). Mid-platform STLA electric vehicles will use motors with power outputs ranging from 125 to 180 kW. Expect single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD configurations in all models.
DS P85 & DS P95
Another DS EV in the pipeline is an SUV coupe inspired by the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept. It is codenamed “DS P85”, which could be a more aerodynamic version of the DS 7 Crossback EV. In addition, the report adds that the company is studying a compact 7-seater SUV, internally called “DS P95”, which could be a rival to the VW ID.6 .

Next generation DS 3 Crossback
The DS 3 Crossback will undergo a complete model change in 2026, and that is the year Stellantis plans to use the STLA Small platform. Perhaps the next-generation DS 3 Crossback E-Tense will debut or be one of the first to benefit from the STLA Small platform.
The STLA small platform models will have 37-82 kWh (gross) battery packs, allowing a range of up to 500 km or 300 miles on the WLTP cycle. Some of these batteries will be nickel-cobalt-free, which have a lower energy density of 400-500 Wh/L, but offer a cost advantage. The next-generation DS 3 Crossback could use a 70 kW motor in its base configuration, designed for urban users who would by then have a dense charging network.
