The test, conducted in summer and winter, is an indication of how the cars perform in relation to the stated range (WLTP) and was driven by regular drivers in normal traffic. The test routes are the same for both seasons and consist of city driving, country roads and motorways at speeds between 60 km/h and 110 km/h. The cars drive through Oslo towards Gjøvik and over Lygnasæter with a climb of 620 meters before heading north towards Dombås.

design

The design of the Citroen e-C4’s grille follows the automaker’s latest styling theme, first seen on the C3 . The front fascia sports V-shaped DRLs and chrome chevrons that span the width of the fascia. The lower half of the front bumper is finished in matte black plastic to add a touch of ruggedness, while the grille sports the chevron pattern from the Ami One concept. The black cladding is even found on the wheel arches to further emphasize the SUV-like styling.

The sloping roofline, says the automaker, aids aerodynamics, while the rear features stylish V-shaped taillights as well as similar plastic cladding on the lower half of the bumper.

Citroen e-C4 interior

Citroen says that the e-C4’s high ground clearance (156 mm) along with its short overhangs gives the driver a higher viewing angle and excellent all-round visibility. In addition, in keeping with the brand’s high level of comfort, the e-C4 is equipped with progressive hydraulic damping that uses two hydraulic stops to ensure a smooth ride. The e-C4 even offers Advanced Comfort seats, as well as optional heating and massage systems.

The infotainment unit offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and is paired with a full HD camera that can take photos and videos. The C4’s safety suite includes driver assistance features such as Highway Driving Assist and Lane Keep Assist.

Specifications

The Citroen e-C4 is powered by a 136 hp/100 kW & 260 Nm electric motor that draws juice from a 50 kWh battery. The electric car has a range of 350 km (in the WLTP cycle) and is said to be able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 9.7 seconds. The car is equipped with a Kinetic Energy Recovery System that recharges the battery during deceleration and braking. It offers three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – so that the user can choose the right mix of performance and energy consumption depending on usage.

The e-C4 comes with an 11kW charger that can charge the battery in around 5 hours from a 32A home wall box. There’s even a 100kW fast charger that offers 80% charge in 30 minutes on a DC fast charger.
