Fiat Tipo 2025: Rebirth of the Compact Sedan Icon

Fiat continues its list of innovative vehicles with the Fiat Tipo model, which will be released soon. This car takes part in the rebirth of Fiat that has recently started with many great new releases and very competitive offers.

Fiat Tipo

The models that Fiat has released so far have been enough to bring Fiat out of the obscurity that was their problem. The Fiat Tipo is another model that does the same, replacing the Linea model as a compact sedan.

The new model that Fiat is offering will have a really tough job ahead of it as it will be competing in the highly competitive C-segment. The name Tipo, which means type in Italian, is not new. The Italian automaker has already used this car between 1988 and 1995. It used to share a platform with the Alfa Romeo and Lancia models and was the new hot thing at the time. It was introduced to replace the Ritmo model but was later replaced by the Bravo and discontinued.

Unfortunately, this car is not yet scheduled for release in the Europe as Fiat is offering its 500 and 124 Spider cars in this market. For those who want to know more about the Fiat Tipo model, here is an overview.

Exterior details

The design of the Fiat Tipo offers just enough freshness to update this new model. Although the Linea it replaces wasn’t bad, it had outdated styling and the Tipo is intended to fix all those mistakes.

The Tipo car is almost the same as the Egea concept version that was unveiled some time ago. The front end has a grille with ‘floating’ chrome inserts and is surrounded by some very stylish looking headlights, topped off by a very nicely sculpted hood. The rear also has the Egea’s C-shaped headlights, chrome trim and a pointed boot lid.

The side view gives the Fiat Tipo a more premium appearance. It has a pronounced waistline, chrome lower window trim, chrome door handles and body-colored mirror caps. You can get it with 16 or 17-inch wheels and choose one of the seven available colors. The options offered include Gelato White, Colosseo Gray, Amore Red, Cinema Black, Maestro Gray, Magnetico Bronze and Canal Grande Blue.

Interior modifications

The interior of the Fiat Tipo is very different from the Linea model. It manages to freshen up the dashboard, offers a cleaner center console and adds a brand new steering wheel. Even if there are still a lot of hard plastic surfaces, the Tipo looks much more premium than the car it replaces. The interior is also much more spacious, offering plenty of legroom and more space in the trunk.

Some standard tech features include an LCD screen, Bluetooth and AM/FM radio. There is a new 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen that gives you access to the DAB radio and multimedia connectivity, but this is available on higher trim levels. The highest versions offer us TomTom 3D navigation with TMC and IQ routes and a 220-watt audio system.

Powertrain Capability and Specifications

Depending on the market the Fiat Tipo falls into, more engine options will be available. Actually, there are two gasoline engines and two diesel engines. The gasoline offering starts with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder “Fire” that makes 94 horsepower and 94 pound-feet. However, if you need more power, there’s the 1.6-liter E.torQ that makes 108 horses and 112 pound-feet.

The diesel side starts with a 1.3-liter MultiJet oil burner. This is capable of making 94 horsepower and 148 pound-feet. The most powerful diesel engine is the 1.6-liter MultiJet, which can deliver 118 horses and 236 pound-feet.

The petrol engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.3-litre diesel uses a five-speed unit, while the 1.6-litre diesel has a six-speed automatic transmission.

0-62 mph per hour acceleration

Depending on the engine choice, acceleration figures for the Fiat Tipo will change. The 1.4-liter reaches 100 km per hour in 11.5 seconds and has a top speed of 115 mph. The 1.6-liter petrol engine can sprint to 100 km per hour in 11.2 seconds and has a top speed of 119 mph.

The first diesel engine, the 1.3-litre, can do 0-62 mph in 11.7 seconds and develop a top speed of 112 mph. The second 1.6-litre diesel does this in 9.7 seconds and also offers a top speed of 124 mph.

Fuel consumption

The fuel consumption rates for the Fiat Tipo model have already been established. Thus, the 1.3-liter diesel version consumes 4.1 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 108 g / km. The 1.6-liter diesel engine produces 4.2 liters of fuel per 100 km and emits 110 grams of CO2 per km. The specifications for the petrol versions have not actually been drawn up, but will be published in due course.

Dimensions and vehicle size

Speaking of the size of the Fiat Tipo , it has similar dimensions to the vehicle it replaces. It is not quite the same, but we can say that it is close to the original, so the total length of the car is 178.42 inches, the wheelbase is 103.77 inches, the height is 58.93 inches and the width is 70.55 inches. It makes it 1.1 cm shorter, 2.6 cm wider and 0.1 cm higher compared to the Linea. It even has a larger trunk capacity, as it can hold 520 liters of cargo.

How safe is the Fiat Tipo ?

The new Fiat Tipo model rightfully deserves a top safety pick. It is equipped with all the standards and necessary equipment when it comes to safety. It offers six airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution and tire pressure monitoring as standard. In addition, there are advanced features such as the parking assistance system rear view camera, electronic stability control with panic brake assist, cruise control, hill start assist, parking sensors and traction control.

Competing models

The new Fiat Tipo is really a good compact sedan model. However, the segment is already occupied by the currently established models. The most popular here are, of course, the already well-known models Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus RS , so it will be largely difficult to establish the Fiat Tipo brand.
