The release date of the latest Ford C-Max Hybrid is expected to be released within the respective year. Since the car has already been sold in America and it is doing pretty well, it is time for the people of Europe to finally enjoy this car. The C-Max brand is essentially a European brand and enjoys most of its success on European soil where the majority of sales are made. What is the price we can expect?
Most buyers will appreciate the price of the Ford C-Max Hybrid. It doesn’t change that much from last time and is also based on the competing models that have similar prices. For example, it is a competitor to the Prius brand and if you can afford that, you can afford the C-Max as well. The only difference may be the higher trims, especially the Titanium, which cost a bit higher and are considered very expensive options. As far as the pricing indicates, the base SE option will be available for a base MSRP of $24,545 while the base SEL option will cost $27,545.

The interior is also covered in various fine materials that improve the quality of the interior tenfold. It is actually much better than you would expect from an economical car like the C-Max Hybrid. You will find soft-touch materials on the dashboard and there are premium materials for the door panels and the seats. The equipment is not shabby either and there are full-color screens that help with infotainment and controlling the car.
Powertrain specifications and capabilities
The Ford C-Max Hybrid engine has not changed. The same familiar setup is given and the car will continue to use the same engine. This is a good thing when it comes close to performance, but not so good when it comes to fuel efficiency. People have been expecting the C-Max Hybrid’s powertrain to be revamped a bit, which will improve and improve the fuel economy numbers a bit. But this time, Ford decides to stick to a familiar formula.
The advantage of the 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine is that it is quite powerful for the segment. The estimate of the 0-100 km per hour capability says that the model can get to it in about 7 seconds.
Ford C-Max Hybrid fuel economy issues
One of the expectations for the updated Ford C-Max Hybrid was that they would also update the engine and improve fuel economy. The thing was that EPA found out that the car’s recent fuel economy numbers were inflated and that the model was not making 42 mpg city and 37 mpg highway as it was originally advertised. The Focus model, in comparison, is 8 inches smaller than the C-Max Hybrid.
Not an impressive array of safety features for the Ford C-Max Hybrid
The first Ford C-Max Hybrid will likely not have impressive safety parts. This is not a bad thing as this is usually how things are for this segment. Hybrid models do not have exceptional safety specs and are not usually equipped with much in terms of safety. This is not a bad thing, it is actually the way it is as there is no need to pack too much into these cars which are essentially made for fuel safety.
The previous model C-Max had a 5-star rating in Europe, but in the US the same car received a 4-star rating. This is nothing new, as most hybrid cars in America receive a lower safety rating due to the much stricter assessments proposed by the law there. Essentially, the Ford C-Max Hybrid is a safe car, but doesn’t offer anything too spectacular or extraordinary. It simply includes a basic offering to make passengers feel safe.
Competing models in the segment
The new Ford C-Max Hybrid will essentially debut again with all the known rival cars in the segment. The competition is the same here in America and it will be the same cars seen in Europe. The higher rated car in this segment is of course the Toyota Prius , which has dominated the segment for years and will be the dominant car this time around as well. Another model that is in second place is the Honda CR-Z. If the C-Max Hybrid wants to do better, it could start small and overtake the second position, as we all know there is no way the Prius cars can be removed from first place anytime soon.
