Compared to other models in the segment, the base engine is a bit dated, but they make up for the extensive offerings they have. That’s why there’s the 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 179 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque and offers better acceleration. The top-rated version, however, is the new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission choice given here is the 6-speed automatic, which we get across the board.
0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed
The base form of the Ford Escape can accelerate to 0-62 mph in no less than 7.1 seconds. But with the changes and additions of the new powertrains, these statistics will get better. The most powerful and newly added engine will help the car do less than seven seconds, but they all still have the same top speed of 116 mph.
Fuel economy specifications for the Ford Escape

Improved safety for the Ford Escape
It seems that the Ford Escape version will raise the bar in terms of safety. They have added some new parts that improve the score and make the car better. Parts added for this version that were not used before include the forward collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking lane departure warning, and a driver alert system. Standard parts still include a driver knee airbag, Ford’s MyKey system, and a rearview camera. The biggest problem for the Escape was the small overlap frontal crash test, which will not be changed from poor to acceptable by the IIHS.
