Ford Explorer EV 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Ford has confirmed that it will unveil an electric version of the Ford Explorer in late , possibly for the model year. This version will meet two key needs of drivers: the desire for an electric vehicle and the desire for an SUV.

Ford not only combines these two requirements, but raises the bar even higher by offering the only existing SUV with three-row seating in an electric version .
The Ford Explorer EV is one of the most reliable SUVs in Ford’s lineup, which includes the EcoSport , Escape , Edge , Expedition , and now the Bronco . The electric version of the Explorer EV is based on the Global Electrified 2 (GE2) platform, which will also house the next-generation Mach-E vehicle. The Lincoln Aviator EV, the premium cousin of the premium Ford Explorer, will also debut in .
The Ford Explorer EV will join the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, E-Transit electric van and the recently introduced Ford F-150 EV pickup truck in Ford’s growing EV lineup, which Ford says will account for 40 percent of the total lineup by 2030gr.
Interior and functionality
The Ford Explorer EV is likely to be as versatile as the gasoline version, with an available third row of Power Fold seats that make storage easier, not to mention a second row of EZ Entry seats that make it easier for passengers to get into the vehicle’s interior. We expect the Ford Explorer to come with an Advance Trac with Roll Over Stability Control, which is currently standard on the gasoline and hybrid models. If so, it also has a whopping 5,600 lb towing capacity.
Competitors
There are currently no other new midsize three-row electric SUVs on the horizon, although Tesla has offered a third row in its Model X and Model Y , but they are extremely small. The Rivian R1S is expected later this year but is not yet available. The Explorer is currently available with a 300-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 365 or 400 hp, or a 3.3-liter hybrid V-6.

Ford has not said when we will see its future EVs, only more details will be announced later. We can expect the cost of the Ford Explorer EV to start at €29,000.
