Ford F-750 Tonka 2025: A Heavy-Duty Workhorse Inspired by Childhood Dreams

Big trucks and playtime somehow go together. You may not understand it at first, but just go back to your childhood and you’ll see how it all makes sense. For one of the most well-known automakers Ford and its collaboration with toy maker Tonka, it made sense to produce a heavy-duty truck that will be released this year. We call it the Ford F-750 Tonka truck and it was first unveiled at the NTEA Work Truck Show this year.

Alongside the F-750, they are also releasing the F-650 version at the same time. The truck really embraces the Tonka heritage and will be a massive workhorse when it comes to hauling large amounts of material, dirt, or whatever you can get your hands on. The truck is capable of hauling no less than 17,000 pounds of material. Combined with the functional and very reliable dumping hydraulics, this car is a standard addition to any major jobs that need to be completed.

The truck will be launched as a touring vehicle first as it will be used in many large truck shows, commercial presentations or professional exhibitions where the truck will show off its tremendous power and potential. It is planned to tour the Europe during 2015. You can check the listings to find out if it is near a location near you so you can see this giant in person. If not, this review is also a good way to find out a lot about the truck.

Design

Well, we can’t even begin to describe the styling of this vehicle without using the words BIG. The design and massive and enormous and the Ford F-750 Tonka is a very imposing dump truck. The frame of the truck holds a huge front bumper and grille with an equally huge hood up front and features a single cab that is also used in the Ford Super Duty assembly. You can tell this is a Ford design just by looking at the grille of the car. The distinctive blacked-out grille with the nostrils on either side and some slits on the side is a trademark of Ford. The design is actually inspired by the Ford E-Series Utility Van which also had the same concept look.

The truck also has a visual impact on Econoline, especially due to the headlight design. The bumper is made in three parts, which makes repairing the damage that may occur much easier, since you don’t have to replace the whole thing, just the one with the damaged section. There are also cutouts for the hook to be placed and some vents to allow airflow. The Ford F-750 Tonka wheels that are part of the design are the same yellow design color that matches the truck and are wrapped in highway rubber. On the business end of the truck are the two “Built Ford Tough” mud flaps, a swinging tailgate, and a trailer hitch with D-rings and pintle hitch.

Currently, no photos have been released about the interior, but we have some information that may be useful to you. First, the Ford F-750 Tonka is a worker truck, so you won’t find any comfort-enhancing additions inside. There are no wood trims, nor leather seats inside. Who needs them anyway! This is a manly truck, a real man doesn’t need any of that! You won’t find any entertainment features, as the truck is bare bones and only has what it needs to get the job done and bring the vehicle’s function to the required level. It’s mostly based on smaller Super Duty series, and based on that, you know the truck is business.

engine

There are actually two engine options that come in this massive beast. The first and the main one in the Ford F-750 Tonka is the 6.8-liter V-10 engine. For those who continue to haul heavier loads, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 is a far better turbodiesel choice, but it doesn’t produce the same amount of power as in the Super Duty trucks. The standard engine makes 270 horsepower and 675 pound-feet, while the mid-range power is somewhere around 300 horsepower and 700 pound-feet.

However, maximum power is expected at 330 horsepower and 725 pound-feet of torque and is available on both the F-650 and F-750 versions. The second engine choice makes 320 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and both of the trims are paired with a six-speed TorqShift HD transmission.

Ford F-750 Tonka Price

There are no official price ranges for the Ford F-750 Tonka yet, but current information puts the car at €55,000 (Euros) for its starting price. Of course, this does not include the upgraded engine options and the aftermarket dump bed. Guessing these additions, the price can go as high as $85,000 or $95,000. The truck is currently touring, so there are talks about the release date and if and when it will go on sale.
