Ford Maverick 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
We bring you the latest details about the Ford Maverick . It is a light truck that will complement models like the Ford F-150 EV and Ford Ranger . These two models are proof that Ford knows how to make and sell pickups. Maverick is an old nameplate, but it will arrive as a brand new pickup truck.
Pickup Maverick
The incoming model will be the brand’s smallest pickup truck, smaller than the midsize Ranger. Either way, Maverick could share its underpinnings with one of Ford’s unibody crossovers. Although some details aren’t available yet, the new Maverick will surely make its debut sometime next year. Here’s everything we know about Blue Oval’s latest model.
Design, Architecture
The upcoming Ford Maverick will become the brand’s smallest pickup truck. It will slot in under the mid-size Ranger. Unlike Ranger, Maverick will arrive with a unibody structure. A similar architecture underpins Honda Ridgeline. However, Ford will most likely provide the same platform on which one of the company’s small crossovers sits. Of course, we are talking about unibody architecture. Although we do not know which platform will be included in the offer, Maverick will share many mechanics with new Escape and Bronco Sport models.
Why Maverick Name?
Initial reports strongly suggest the name “Maverick.” However, the Ford Maverick pickup truck could get a new name. Still, Maverick is the most likely outcome. The latest leaked details show a large “MAVERICK” stamp on the truck’s tailgate.
Anyway, new images show a detailed tailgate that bears the same wordmark. The other possibilities are “Courier” and ” Ranchero .” Interestingly, some rumors are writing about Maverick as a new member of the Bronco family. Therefore, don’t be surprised if Maverick becomes the Ford Bronco pickup truck.
Engine specifications
When the new Ford Maverick arrives with the modular front-wheel drive platform, the engine options are already known. Ford will not develop a new engine because it is too expensive. Instead, the Blue Oval manufacturer will opt for familiar powerplants from the Escape and Bronco Sport. The small truck will most likely use at least two turbocharged engine options. A 1.5-liter three-cylinder and a larger and optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
The latest rumors even predict a turbocharged 2.3-liter with 280 horsepower, taken from the Focus ST variant . If Ford opts for the same front-wheel-drive architecture that underpins Ford Transit Connect, it will surely result in a 2.0-liter engine with 162 horses. In addition, a 1.5-liter makes around 180 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission is a must, although a six-speed manual could also be available. Entry-level models offer front-wheel-drive equipment as standard, while the all-wheel-drive system is optional.
