Genesis GV70 EV 2025: New Step Towards Electrification from Luxury Brand Genesis.

Luxury automaker Genesis is taking another step toward electrification with a third EV model, the Genesis GV70 EV, which comes alongside the GV60 SUV and electrified G80 sedan. Based on the gasoline-powered GV70 SUV, the electrified GV70 looks just as fabulous but swaps in two electric motors that produce a combined 483 horsepower.

All-wheel drive is standard, and Genesis says the Genesis GV70 EV will come with a fast-charging system that can juice the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes.

What’s new ?

The Genesis GV70 EV will be a new nameplate for the Genesis lineup, and we expect it to launch as a model with sales starting sometime in late .
Genesis hasn’t released pricing for the Genesis GV70 EV, but we expect it to command a big premium over the gasoline-powered model. When we learn more about pricing, available trims, and standard and optional features, we’ll update this story with those details.

Engine, transmission and performance

All-wheel drive will be standard on the Genesis GV70 EV, and it uses two motors, one on each axle, to achieve this. Maximum horsepower is 483 hp. Genesis says the electrified GV70 will be able to reach 100 km per hour in just 4.5 seconds, which would make it the fastest version of the compact SUV.

We tested the regular GV70 with the optional twin-turbocharged V-6 and managed to get to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. When we get a chance to test the electrified GV70, we’ll update this story with driving impressions and test results.

Range, charging and battery life

Genesis hasn’t released any information about the Electrified GV70’s battery or range yet – though we’re expecting around 300 miles per charge – but it has announced that the SUV will get a very fast onboard charger. The system can charge at 350 kW, and Genesis says that’s fast enough to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes at a public charging station.

The electrified GV70 shares its interior with its petrol-powered counterpart, meaning it will have a similarly impressive design and upscale ambience. The interior is adequate for the compact SUV class, and we expect cargo space to remain unchanged from the petrol model, although Genesis has not released any specs or photos of the Genesis GV70 EV trunk.

Genesis says it has lowered the GV70’s center tunnel in the all-electric variant to provide equivalent second-row space. Like the GV70, the electrified version should come with features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 12-way power driver’s seat, 8-way power passenger seat, 14.5-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, and fingerprint recognition. The upholstery and inserts would differ, however, with the all-electric variant getting cruelty-free, recycled and sustainable materials. Genesis will offer the interior in Glacier White. More details should be available closer to launch.

Price Genesis GV70 EV

There is no official on-sale date for the Genesis GV70, but stay tuned for updates. We expect the Genesis GV70 pricing to stay close to the current model, which ranges between $37,000 and $56,000 (destination fees included). This small luxury SUV will compete against the Mercedes-Benz GLC , BMW X3 M and Audi Q5 .
