Pick up Canyon

On the other hand, the Canyon model, unlike its siblings, needs refreshment. The new model will get an improved design and introduce a longer list of standard features.

Like the outgoing model, the new model offers the same trim levels. The most popular version is the off-road AT4 model , which looks more rugged. Interestingly, each trim level gets the same updates, including additional high-tech amenities. The Canyon will not receive a significant price increase. Either way, the Canyon could arrive with the same price sticker as the current model.

External changes

As we said, a mid-cycle redesign is just around the corner. The GMC Canyon will not receive such a drastic visual update. However, the styling will be improved, which is very important. In addition, GM will supply lighter materials, mainly aluminum. Thanks to this, we expect slightly better fuel economy figures. Canyon looks good and good, but some exterior parts look dated.

The approaching model will wear more chrome accents, especially up front. The AT4 trim will get a few new sporty cues and more off-road equipment. The rear section will remain intact, but we’re hoping for new exterior colors and new optional wheels.

Interior fittings

The interior of the GMC Canyon will receive some interesting updates. This pickup truck will again offer extended cab and crew cab configurations. Both versions are full of upright materials and high-tech amenities. GM says the Canyon pickup will also offer more standard and optional features. Thanks to this, for example, you can choose between vinyl, cloth and leather upholstery.

New infotainment is also available, but the 8-inch touchscreen remains. Canyon comes with standard Wi-Fi, the latest phone integrations, and more. The Denali trim level is a luxury item. Either way, Canyon Denali offers standard features like a heated steering wheel, unique interior colors, and additional wood trim.

Three engine options

The all-new GMC Canyon will ride on the same engine lineup as the current model. There are still rumors about the possible hybrid powertrain. However, we believe that this will not happen in the next year or two. 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline remains the standard engine choice and generates 200 horsepower. This engine works with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

3.6-liter V6 gasoline is optional and delivers 308 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The optional V6 offers a better 8-speed automatic transmission. Finally, there is a diesel powertrain option. It is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 180 hp and 370 lb-ft of twist.

Price and release date

As we said, the price of the new GMC Canyon will probably remain intact. That is, you can buy this model for about €24,500 (Euro). On the other hand, the Denali trim level will cost closer to €40,000 (Euro). Sales will start later in , most likely in the last quarter of the year.
