GMC Savana 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The announcement of a new GMC Savana is unlikely to excite automotive fans as much as some other models on the market. Vans are generally considered to be less popular and their design and styling always take second place when it comes to manufacturing. However, they serve a specific purpose and are known as commercial vehicles and models that allow you to transport either people or a large load.

GMC Savana

The GMC Savana model is the second best-selling van from the Europe. It made its debut in 1996 and since then it has managed to increase its popularity around the world. The van underwent some significant changes in 2003 and 2008, but that’s about it. Mind you, redesigning a van on a large scale is not as lucrative as you might think. But they decided to do it now and refresh the model a bit.

For the latest update we get a stronger frame with larger anti-roll bars. The cabin has also been redesigned and we have some more comfortable seats and enhanced comfort features, but they have also addressed safety a little.

However, the release date for the GMC Savana is almost here and after the first batch of photos, we can finally give you an overview of this model.

Publication date

Perhaps people are treating the release of a GMC Savana somewhat uneventfully. There are no special announcements and people are not making that much of a fuss about the coming of this car. However, the Savana will be a standout car in the industry and will still be a celebrated vehicle. The release date is therefore expected to be in late , as the car will go on sale in early .

What is the expected price?

The latest price for the GMC Savana will be in the fury of all the competitor vehicles we already have on the market. In fact, a starting price of $32,000 is a given and will go up to $35,500 for the highest and larger trims.

What are the external changes made?

In general, the GMC Savana hasn’t changed that much compared to before, but it does look a bit fresher. In fact, it looks almost exactly like the Chevrolet Express, only the front end is a bit different. The Savana’s hood features some smart creases that give it more dynamism. The same design language will be retained for the headlights, and all trim levels will feature the same exterior lines.

However, since it is a GM product, it looks very similar to other segments. However, we have to agree that it looks much more premium compared to the Express model. However, they share common body types, so the half-ton models have a regular length configuration, while the three-quarter-ton models and the one-ton version have a regular or extended length.

Are there any interior fittings?

The interior of the GMC Savana actually comes with more updates than the exterior. We can see the wide-opening doors and convenient grab handles, which makes getting into the van pretty easy. The interior is very spacious and there is additional storage space for this version. The dash is pretty easy to use, especially if you have used a Savana before as these are very similar. It also offers excellent ergonomics, but the quality of the materials is still not as high as you would like. The new instrument panel has convenient controls and round gauges for a better and more premium look.

The steering wheel has been redesigned and comes with some new controls that are very useful. Adjustments are also offered that allow you to set your seating position to how you want it. Again, this greatly improves the seating as the old ones were rock hard and the new ones are a bit softer. These adjustments of the seats can also be visible to the outside as you can position yourself so that you can see the front better.

Upgrades to powertrain and engine specifications

Under the hood of the GMC Savana we have received some modifications that will improve the performance of the vehicle a bit. In total there are four engines to choose from, spanning the trims and configurations offered. So we can choose between a 4.3-liter V6 with 200 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, the 4.8-liter V8 with an output of 270 hp and 285 lb-ft of torque, the 5.3-liter V8 with 285 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque and the 6.0-liter V8 with 300 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque.

Top speed of the GMC Savana

With the latest GMC Savana having some updates under the hood, some basic stats will not change. We mean the vehicle’s top speed, which is still kept at 80 mph. Acceleration specs are not yet available at the time of writing, but updates will be available soon and we will make sure to report them.

Has fuel consumption improved?

Fuel economy isn’t too bad for the GMC Savana model. All of the engines are actually pretty good and offer a good source of power, so you probably won’t go wrong no matter which one you use. The same goes for fuel economy, as they are as economical as they can get, at least for a van or passenger hauler. Estimated ratings are given at an EPA of 19 mpg for combined consumption.

Dimensions of the latest GMC Savana

The size of the GMC Savana is quite large. We mean that it has enough space to carry anything you can throw at it. The regular wheelbase version has an overall length of 224.10 inches and a height of 84.60 inches and a wheelbase of 135.00 inches. The extended wheelbase version has all the reasonable numbers, but the wheelbase is 155.00 inches and the weight of both is 8600.00 lbs. The most amount of cargo you can take on is 124.60 inches in the regular and 146.20 inches in the extended wheelbase.

Safety for the GMC Savana

The latest GMC Savana inherits the five starting crash test ratings of the previous model. The car has been tested by both NHTSA and IIHS and previously passed with flying colors. The latest will also use the same type of equipment that made the previous one such a good and safe car. Standard equipment includes anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, and side airbags. What not many cars in this segment hit is also outward visibility. Not only does it offer a comprehensive view, but it also gives us additional mirrors positioned at an angle that helps make it even better.

Other cars in the segment

The new GMC Savana will face competition from an already familiar audience. Although the van segment is not as popular as the others, it still manages to fit into a nice crowd of vehicles to choose from. The familiar faces here are the Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, Chevrolet Express and Nissan NV1500 models.
