GMC Terrain AT4 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Life in the world of compact crossovers is extremely difficult these days. We are talking about the most crowded and competitive segment in the automotive industry, which includes a variety of well-designed models, so you definitely need something to stand out from the crowd. This model hasn’t had anything like it until now, but things could change with the GMC Terrain, which will come with a lot of interesting changes.

SUV-Terrain AT4

Next year will be quite important for Terrain as it is about to undergo a redesign. This mid-cycle refresh will include many changes in the design that should make this model more attractive. In addition to styling, we will see a new off-road version with the familiar AT4 badge, designed for enthusiast drivers. On the other hand, the interior will not suffer too much while the engine range will remain the same. We expect to see the GMC Terrain AT4 sometime in the second half of the year.

GMC Terrain AT4 Redesign

Next year will bring some changes to the GMC Terrain. As you might assume, the focus is on visual updates. The facelifted model gets new features at both ends of the vehicle with new headlights, new grille and bumpers, all designed to look bolder and more rugged like GMC’s pickups. Of course, we also expect to see typical updates in terms of new color options, wheels, etc.

Another major new feature is the addition of the AT4 model. Like other GMC models, the Terrain will also receive an off-road version that comes with several upgrades. Of course, you’ll notice a different design first, but this model also hides some off-road hardware. This would include things like skid plates, tow hooks, all-terrain tires, standard AWD system, etc.

Inner

On the other hand, the GMC Terrain AT4 is unlikely to feature any major changes on the inside. Of course, we will see new materials and color schemes, but the overall layout will remain the same. Therefore, you can count on a nice cabin that looks attractive and offers solid build quality. Still, we have to admit that rivals look more upscale on the inside.

What we like about this SUV is a boxy shape that offers plenty of interior space. The first row is very generous with space. The seats are comfortable, but would use some extra support. The second row can accommodate adults with ease, while cargo space also offers pretty decent numbers for the class. In numbers, we’re talking about 29.6 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 63.3 cubic feet behind the first row, which is perfectly adequate for a compact SUV.

Characteristics

The current model comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, four USB ports, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. We expect this refresh could bring some additions, such as a larger 8-inch touchscreen, which is currently optional. Things like wireless charging, HD radio, and a better audio system could also be added to the list of standard equipment.

When it comes to safety, the current model comes standard with forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, following distance indicator, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, so we don’t think there’s much room for upgrades.

GMC Terrain AT4 Off-Road Engines

This aspect does not bring any major changes, so you can count on two familiar engine options. The base models continue with a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that produces about 170 horsepower and is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It feels decent for daily commuting, but is not enough for a comfortable highway ride. Therefore, a 2.0-liter engine seems to be a much better choice, as it is good for about 250 horses and offers significantly better dynamics. Also, this engine is equipped with a nicer 9-speed automatic transmission.

When it comes to fuel economy, the base engine delivers about 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is fairly typical for the class. With the larger engine, fuel economy drops by 2 mpg.

GMC Terrain AT4 Release Date and Price

We expect the GMC Terrain AT4 to hit the market in the third quarter of the year with a starting price of around €26,000 (Euros). When it comes to competitors, models like Toyota RAV4 , Honda CR-V , Mazda CX-5 SUV are the main players in this segment.
