The latest car is said to be completely redesigned inside and out, and a new platform is also mentioned. This will make the Accord a better car as they plan to develop a sleeker design for the future to update it accordingly. Along with sportier styling on the outside, there are also many improvements to the interior of the car .

The Honda Accord brand is already established in the market and has been present since 1976. The greater recognition came with the brand launched in the US market in 1989. The car was then presented to a worldwide audience and came in many forms, coupe, hatchback, wagon and even crossover.

The upcoming version of the Honda will be available in standard trim, so with the base LX model, we can expect a comeback of the Sport, SE, EX, EX-L and Touring models for the version. The review will tell you everything you need to know so you can prepare for the release.

Update: When we last reported on the Honda Accord, the camouflage was still fresh. Now the banners are off and we can clearly see what we have in front of us. To be honest, many of the leaks were actually correct, so we have few updates for you that will help you clear up certain misconceptions about the model. The fact remains that this will be the 10th generation model of the famous Accord brand. Interestingly, but the previous generation was only from 4 years. The designers decided to cut things short and release a new model that will fix all the shortcomings of the previous model.

When we talk about the shortcomings, we mean that the previous car had a lot to offer that needed to be changed. Fortunately, the Honda Accord has fixed all of that. We are talking about a completely redesigned interior and a stripped-down body. The chassis has also been reshaped, but the most important part is under the hood, where the engine and transmission have been replaced. Also take into account the ultra-high-strength steel that the body is made of, which guarantees better safety.

With recent updates, we present it here for you with our initial review.

When is the Honda Accord release date?

According to the latest news, the Honda Accord will be offered in early . The early spy photos that were presented didn’t show us much, but it is the recent ones that actually show a more accurate picture of the Accord car. According to the design we see now and the production level, the car will get a release date in early .

Update: It has been confirmed and a more precise release date for the Honda Accord model has now been given. Buyers can expect it to be available by February . Honda will not miss any deadlines with this model and we expect the model to be on track and likely to achieve much better sales numbers than the previous model.

How much does the Honda Accord cost?

The car will be more expensive than before and the Honda Accord will be more valuable than it is now. The current car has a base MSRP of €22,355 (Euro), but the latest model will be raised to around €24,000 (Euro). The highest trim level will be offered for a total of around €35,000 (Euro).

Update: With the release date looming, Honda Accord pricing has been confirmed. If you want to get your hands on the entry-level LX model, you’ll have to pay €22,450. The highest trim level is the EX, which costs €30,990. There’s also the hybrid model, which is offered for €35,950.

How will the exterior design differ?

As can be seen from the images offered so far, the Honda Accord will adopt a very different styling compared to now. They will now use a different design language that will be translated into all future Honda models. This one will get a sporty treatment and will be sleeker than currently. A sleeker profile will merge with a curved roofline that blends in quite well with the sloping rear windows.

The front grille has a corporate design seen on the Pilot and Ridgeline models, while the cabin resembles that of a Civic model. The platform is also shared with the Honda Civic, which is also expected to introduce a new type of design with some advanced features. The platform is expected to make both cars lighter and improve driving dynamics.

Update: The latest Honda Accord will probably make the most of the new range of German cars. It will be similar to other cars in the lineup, but it will still have its own standalone features that will make it as distinctive as possible. The front end will be a bit unusual for this reason, but it will be unique compared to other Honda models coming out at the same time. The most distinctive part will be the jewel-eye headlights that will be joined by a black gloss trim across the entire nose, but also a very large mouth grille that is positioned much lower. The unusual part is that the front mouth is too open and it seems to most people that it needs to be covered with something. Nevertheless, the vehicle is updated in a great way.

What will the new Accord interior look like?

The interior of the Honda Accord will also be based on some current models. In fact, the Honda Civic is a good car to base your interior on and it will really bring everything the car needs. The model will combine some great new looks with modern devices and gadgets. The new platform is also expected to create more interior space and make it much more comfortable for the people inside.

When it comes to the tech department, there are a lot of new features to mention. What is most important is to help people feel comfortable inside and that is brought about by some new infotainment specifications. The devices are updated and we can expect a lot of Honda’s own devices to be added to the car.

Update: You already know that the Honda Accord will be much more comfortable, but we also learned that it will be very useful too. The latest news talks about the updated technology for the Accord. In fact, all new Honda cars will be equipped with the HondaLink system. This system allows automatic search and start options when using your smartphone. You can also connect your phone through the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. Finally, the previous 7-inch display will be replaced by an 8-inch infotainment display. This also means that the Touring trims will get a 6-inch head-up display that offers customization options.

If you are interested in the powertrain options for the Honda Accord, you can read about it in our official review below. The model gets consistent performance and quite suitable power, which you can determine based on the given specifications.

Powertrain options

The latest Honda Accord will also come in a few engine options. The base offering will be a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that will make 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. But there is also a higher and a more powerful option. This actually means that the 3.5-liter version of a V-6 engine will be replaced by a 2.0-liter turbocharged offering. The V-6’s output is currently measured at 278 hp, and we’re not sure how good the replacement will be. We’d rather they keep the current one, though. This change isn’t official yet, and we could actually end up with both. But the hybrid engine, which is expected to make 212 hp, has also been announced and is underway.

0-62 mph. Acceleration specifications

The current acceleration rate is 8 seconds for the car, but the Honda Accord might try to break that rate. If they incorporate some new features into the engine as they have announced, we are looking at an engine with a better start. So, we expect the 0-100 km per hour acceleration to drop below 8 seconds, while the top speed will be around 120 mph.

Fuel consumption

The model hasn’t released fuel economy ratings yet, but the Honda Accord will surely improve on those. Due to the fact that the car is aiming for an all-new platform that’s much lighter than the one currently used, we’re looking at some lower fuel economy numbers. The current car makes 27 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined for its base version, which will reportedly drop for future models. The hybrid powertrain aims to achieve an EPA rating of 49 mpg for city driving, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars on the market.

Dimensions

The car will reportedly grow as the Honda Accord is set to get a few inches longer. Based on the type of platform they are using for the car, it will certainly be a few inches longer and perhaps wider. The car plans to offer more interior space in the cabin and will offer a lot more interior volume and a bit more in the cargo area.

Safety ratings and technical data for the Accord

Hone has always brought excellent safety to its cars and the Honda Accord will be no exception. The current model already has a Top Safety Pick + issued by the IIHS agency and the latest one is expected to continue the good use of its safety technology. The car will integrate Honda Sensing active safety technology in this car. This offers forward collision warning, active lane keeping, automatic braking and adaptive cruise control. These are more than enough to keep you safe and the car will also be equipped with all the standard safety items such as the appropriate number of airbags.

Competitors

We are yet to see the release of the Honda Accord, but the competition is stacked. The models that will run against this model are quite numerous and there are many to consider. Some of them are also currently undergoing facelifts and the Accord will not remain unhindered and conquer the market. Among the competing closers are the Chevrolet Malibu , the Ford Fusion , the Nissan Altima model and the Subaru Legacy vehicles, which are already established and well known in the market.
