Honda HR-V E HEV 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
A new Honda HR-V E HEV has arrived in Europe, and Honda has announced that the next model of the subcompact SUV will also be available in the European markets. We’re not sure how different the US-spec version would look at this point, but we think this European variant gives us a clear idea of what the HR-V could look like in North America.
Honda HR-V E HEV
The E HEV is a model for Europe and will be electric with two motors. Sales are expected to start later in and the subcompact SUV will cost more than the previous model. It is the next generation model, so we expect many significant changes. These include both visual upgrades and numerous interior updates.
Design
The new generation Honda HR-V E HEV will be refreshed and look very modern. This European variant will certainly not differ from the model in Europe. Both variants are expected to receive more distinctive styling, especially on the front apron. New grille and headlights are very attractive and this small SUV will also introduce a sloping tailgate.
The result is a good-looking SUV with a sporty character and sharper lines. 17-inch wheels are standard, while trim levels like Sport offer 18-inch rims. Unfortunately, HR-V e:HEV does not offer a power tailgate, as some sources reported. This may become a problem as competitors like the Mazda CX-30 offer a power tailgate as an option.
Interior details
Inside, the Honda HR-V E HEV keeps the same layout. The model has the spacious rear seat and cargo area with the so-called “Magic Seat”. The seats fold flat into the floor and allow the lower cushion to be folded up. The dashboard is clear and uncluttered, with a tablet-style infotainment panel in the middle and three buttons for temperature control below.
All trim levels are available with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi and in-dash navigation. Honda will also improve safety by adding new driver assistance aids. These include systems such as lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Two-engine configuration
At this point, the automaker only said that the Honda HR-V E HEV will use a dual-engine setup. The same powertrain is used by some other models, such as the CR-V and Accord. We wouldn’t be shocked if an HR-V hybrid comes to the U.S. lineup, too, but it would almost certainly come standard with a traditional gasoline engine.
The 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four used in the Civic , CR-V and Accord seems the most likely outcome, with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option. Honda has yet to reveal further details on this two-engine configuration.
Price, release date
The price of the upcoming Honda HR-V E HEV is currently not available. This small SUV starts at around 19,500 euros (euro). A similar price is expected in Europe, but this twin-engine variant will surely cost a bit more. The Japanese automaker will launch this model by the end of the year.
