Honda Pilot 2025: what to expect from the crossover next year

In the crowded segment of three-row crossovers, the Pilot stands out for its practicality, interior space, safety and the brand’s well-known technology, so it’s no wonder that sales are still quite good despite the current generation being more than five years old.

Therefore, we are pretty sure that Honda will not make any changes and that it will stick to its usual 7-year production cycle. For this reason, we expect the Honda Pilot SUV to have no major changes.

This means you can count on a crossover that offers a tremendous amount of cargo space and plenty of room for passengers. In addition, it is loaded with all kinds of advanced tech features and has a smooth and powerful powertrain. All of this makes it desirable, even though there are much younger competitors. The best we could see for next year are some additions to the list of standard equipment. Other than that, the Honda Pilot SUV will continue in the same vein.

Honda Pilot SUV redesign

In terms of basic design features, you can count on Honda’s typical engineering approach. The first thing that comes to mind is, of course, the powertrain, but this crossover boasts a solid chassis and suspension that makes the ride quite smooth and comfortable. The car is easy to drive and even offers relatively responsive handling, although rivals like the Mazda CX-9 are far better in this regard.

In terms of styling, things are pretty typical too. The Honda Pilot SUV will continue with the same styling. It is based on the brand’s contemporary design language, which is characterized by surprisingly conventional aesthetic solutions, given the brand’s history and reputation. Next year will probably be the last of the current generation, so we don’t expect any special changes. Still, there is always a chance to see some new color options on offer.

Inner

Inside, too, things will remain pretty much the same. You can count on a familiar cabin layout that features a rather classic design. The dashboard is quite conventional and younger rivals like Hyundai Palisade look much more inspiring. The actual quality, however, is quite impressive. All materials are fine and even plastic surfaces are soft to the touch.

The aspect where this model really shines is the interior. Although it is far from having the longest wheelbase in the segment, Honda engineers managed to pack in three fairly spacious rows of seats. The first two rows are very generous in this regard, while the third is more than decent as well. All in all, this is one of the rare mid-size crossovers that can actually accommodate 7 adult passengers.

Cargo space is also impressive. You can count on about 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, up to 55.9 cubic feet behind the second-row seats, and up to 109.2 cubic feet behind the first-row seats.

Characteristics

Typically for Honda, things stay pretty basic in terms of tech features. You can count on an archaic 5-inch display, along with seven speakers, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and three-zone automatic climate control. Thankfully, things look a lot better at higher trim levels, where you get extras like an 8-inch touchscreen, the HondaLink telematics system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD radio, wireless device charging, navigation, a rear entertainment system, 10 speakers, and Wi-Fi hot spot.

When it comes to safety, all models will come standard with forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beam headlights. Additionally, extras such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors and LED fog lights will be offered as options.

Honda Pilot SUV Engines

No surprises come under the hood. The Honda Pilot will continue with a 3.5-liter V6 that’s good for about 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than enough power for a comfortable ride. Also, the 9-speed automatic transmission makes everything feel smoother and more refined.

When it comes to fuel economy, things are pretty typical for the class. With the FWD model, you can expect 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. If you prefer an all-wheel drive layout, you can expect slightly lower ratings, around 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Honda Pilot SUV Release Date and Price

We expect to see the Honda Pilot SUV sometime in the last quarter of the year. Prices should not change too much, so the base models will probably cost around €33,000 (Euros). Some of the main competitors are models like VW Atlas , Chevy Traverse , Subaru Ascent .
